How To Avoid A Heart Attack – Number One Killer

The topic of “How To Prevent a Heart Attack” comes a little too late for many who have suffered a surprise attack. No one ever believes it will happen to them, that is, until it takes place.

On 1 August 2016, my attention was dynamically focused because of a heart attack. I thank the Lord for it as I have learned a ton and many blessings have come out of it. Knowing what I know now, I believe I wouldn’t have needed a zipper up my sternum as a result of doctors performing open-heart surgery which required a quadruple by-pass. I believe what I have learned is important for you.

My goal is to serve and help as many as I can to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit.  At age eighty, when health issues are in our faces, we seem to have a much clearer vision of them than when we were in our teens.

Looking For A Heart Disease Cure That Works.

In any discipline (science or otherwise), you cannot prove a theory is true; you can only prove it false. If you find reliable data that contradicts a theory, then the theory is false, or perhaps is more limited than previously believed. On this basis, the theory of heart attacks being caused by plaque buildup in coronary arteries has been proven false, as there are data that contradict this model for heart disease. In other words, this theory seems to be more limited than believed by most in the United States. I will share a better model.

My heart attack was a surprise to everyone because I have always exercised, eaten a good diet, and have good genetics, thanks to my ancestors.  Because of  this background, our youngest son, Nathan, felt impressed to research further – knowing that at my age, excellent health is atypical. Nathan found an article on Mercola.com by Dr. Thomas Cowan entitled, “What’s the Real Cause of Heart Attacks?” His article described my situation perfectly.

This led me to undertake further research, where I found information validating the myogenic theory for heart disease, which is a much better model for me and which fits all the data to date including what causes blockage. This theory has been the accepted framework for decades in Europe, where many are being cured of heart-disease.

Unfortunately, here in the US, where the coronary blockage theory dominates, a person operated on for heart-disease often returns later to his surgeon with the same disease. In other words they are seldom cured of their coronary problem.

I believe we can reverse health challenges. I have reversed twelve in my own life. Now, I believe I have a solution for reversing the thirteenth trial, heart disease, and can be cured from it forever.

A Heart Disease Model That Works

A Dr. med. Berthold Kern from Stuttgart, Germany, should be world famous. Using this myogenic model for preventing and treating heart disease, there are 15,000 patients he as attended to, in which there are no deaths. In simple terms, the myogenic theory seems comprehensive and states, as extracted from an article by Dr. Cowan, that:

1.    The coronary obstruction theory – widely accepted in the U.S. – does not adequately explain all the observed facts concerning heart attacks.
2.    The major cause and effect factors in heart attacks are a destructive chemical process leading to lactic acidosis which, if unchecked, leads to the death of heart cells.
3.    To cure heart disease, we need to go back to basics in terms of diet, exercise, loving relationships, and properly dealing with stress. In addition, heart-tonics, such as low-dose digitalis or an herb called g-strophanthin, prevents this lethal acidosis and therefore prevents and corrects the true cause of heart attacks.

Dr. Cowan’s patients, similar to Dr. Kern’s, did not die of heart attacks when he had them on g-strophanthin. The adrenal gland naturally secretes g-strophanthin to deal with exercise stress on the heart, but excess emotional stress can impede “the release of g-strophanthin,” according to Dr. rer. nat. Rainer Moser – especially if the adrenal gland has been compromised from excess stimulants, caffeine, etc. Interestingly, the adrenal gland creates g-strophanthin from cholesterol; so, don’t try to lower your cholesterol. (The US model regarding cholesterol seems to be another false theory.)

When I wrote my book, Its About Time, Section II was devoted to treating several false traditions that plague us – body, mind and spirit, and included solutions. However, this heart attack has reveled to me a very important one that I missed. So this blog article and the next commentary are like an extremely poignant additional chapters and will be included in the next book update.

The Lord has designed the body to heal if we nourish it properly – body, mind and spirit. In this article and the next one, we will validate this divine design for not only heart disease but all disease – drawing upon the wisdom of the world’s experts.

In 1939, Weston A. Price published his game changing book, Nutrition and Physical Degeneration, detailing his global travels studying the diets and nutrition of various cultures. The book concludes that aspects of the modern Western diet (particularly flour, sugar, and modern processed vegetable fats) cause nutritional deficiencies which are a cause of many dental issues and health problems. It is almost as if the Western diet ignores the wisdom and traditions coming from nearly six-thousand years of earth’s history.

Dr. Cowan cites Price’s monumental work extensively in his recent, 2016 book, Human Heart, Cosmic Heart, A Doctor’s Quest to Understand, Treat, and Prevent Cardiovascular Disease.  See also the Weston A. Price Foundation.

While we are amazed at the technologies evolving out of the industrial revolution over the last 100+ years, there is a price to be paid. The motivation for this revolution has been money and not love of planet earth and each other. This has resulted in the pollution of both our food and our environment, to the detriment of our physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. We have moved into a destructive moral decline as the world has turned from the love of God, and the family, which is no longer fundamental. We are often lonely in a crowded world, and the business of life has made stress a major killer.

It’s Time To Turn Back

It is time to turn back to the religious and societal truths held sacred by our agrarian ancestors, which includes loving and trusting the Lord, fostering healthy-loving relationships, promoting a sense of community, and feeding body, mind and spirit in a healthy way.

Extracting suggestions from Dr. Cowan’s book with some of my own variations:
•    Eat only good food, and this is a challenge; paying the price for quality is well worth it.
•    Drink only good water; which is also a challenge now days.
•    Get as much sun exposure (without burning and not using sun-block) as you can.
•    Walk with bare feet on the earth, on the beach; play with bare feet in the water.
•    Soak in the beauties of nature; respect all living things. Build and nurture loving relationships. Enjoy healthy, tactile interactions with loved ones. Being happy is a basic ingredient to health. The bottom line: Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. He will bring joy to your soul as you do so.

America has moved from being the healthiest nation on the planet to one of the unhealthiest. Regarding diet, it is almost impossible to buy healthful foods today because of how industrialization has moved food processing forward, which is motivated by money and not by love or concern for others.

Authors, Sally Fallon and Dr. Mary G. Enig have written a game changing classic book: “Nourishing Traditions”. With sales of over a half-million, this 634 page “gold mine” is so much more than a cookbook. Included among the recipes, they document, using the best of modern knowledge, how the body best utilizes vitamins, minerals, enzymes, etc. which is based on the best of proven traditions for the optimum dietary guidelines for consuming fats, protein, and carbohydrates. These guidelines are almost totally counter to the standard American diet. They also show how the industrialized American diet has led to the large number of diseases prevalent – many of which are epidemic.

As Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride points out:
“We have epidemics of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, psychological and psychiatric maladies, learning disabilities, autoimmune disorders, obesity, etc. etc., the list is very long.  These are all conditions which doctors very rarely encountered 100 years ago.”

Remarkable medical progress has been made over the last 100 years, but as Weston Price has shown so profoundly, this progress has been concurrent with a major decline in the appreciation of and implementation of healthy traditions to body, mind, and spirit.

The next blog article will draw on the best of the world’s experts to help us be healed from these  diseases.  Of course, being healed from heart disease is at the top of my list.  However, for you, How To Prevent A Heart Attack” and other diseases in the first place is my primary purpose for these articles.

While I am writing the next commentary, you can read Section II of my book. It will help you deal with many other false traditions.
