Christ said, ”I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.”
Each of us has a unique mission that is revealed to our hearts and minds, as we follow the light of Christ. The truths of God will be opened in personal revelation, and in addition those who share and those who receive the truths of God “are edified and rejoice together.” (D&C 50:22).
That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light and that light growth brighter and brighter until the perfect day. (D&C 50:24)
We also grow in gratitude as we contemplate the infinite goodness of the giver of that LIGHT.
Truth Is Light
(John 8:12) “TRUTH IS LIGHT” is engraved in the keystone of the arch at the entry of our home. When we were building our solar home (without a furnace) in ’92-’93, our brick mason asked if I would like the granite keystone from from the Salt Lake Temple. He had been involved with some refurbishing of the temple and had some extra pieces. I humorously responded, “Is this a midnight acquisition?” Finding that it was a legit offer, we accepted this precious gift. As you can imagine, both the scripture and the stone are special to us and symbolize our focus on God’s TRUTHS. (D&C 84:45)
Truth Forsakes the Evil one
The opposite is also true; following the spirit of darkness leads to heaviness of heart, fear, envy, hate, lust, and an ungrateful heart. While “Light and truth forsake the evil one.” (D&C 93:37)
Why are so many deceived by Satan? He is so subtle in his tactics. Paul Harvey gave a repeated classic talk over the years, “If I Were The Devil” Then he lists, for example, “I would take prayer out of school and teach that the Bible is a myth,” and then he lists several other similar things that we see going on around us every day. He closes his talk, “In other words, If I were the devil, I’d just keep doing what he’s doing.”
The Firm Foundation Book of Mormon Virtual Expo

Preparing for Zion
Recently, I asked my dear friend, Chauncey Riddle, who prays for the coming of ZION more than any other person I know, to share his insights on the topic of establishing Zion. He is Emeritus Professor of Philosophy of Religion – having taught at BYU for 40 years, and has been a sealer in the Provo Temple for 19 years.

The events ahead are beyond our comprehension, as the Glory of the Lord is Revealed and the space ship – called Earth – moves into its millennial epoch and paradisiacal glory. We will see a “new heaven and a new earth” (Isa. 65:17; 66:22; 2 Pet. 3:13; Rev. 21:1; Ether 13:9; D&C 29:23-24) with all worldliness gone! And Christ will reign as Lord of Lords and King of kings for a thousand years, as He prepares this earth to be delivered to the Father to go through its final glorious-celestial transition, and a fullness of joy for those who have followed “light and truth.”
