Zion – An Israel Experience

I testify that Jesus walked, taught, and worked the miracles described in the gospels. And He worked out the perfect and infinite atonement in Jerusalem (this holy and sacred place). In one of the many grand ironies of the Lord, Jerusalem means the city of peace.

Yet, it has been fought over more than almost any other city. But in His grand plan, it will become so. It will be a ZION society of the pure in heart, who are of one mind and one heart with the Lord. My wife and I have been to Israel four times, and here I share some of our ZION experiences.

Now, with all the conflict in Israel, it is hard to imagine a “pure in heart” people being of “one mind and one heart with God.” But we had a taste of it while there, and it surely shall come to pass.

President Spencer Kimball went to Israel during the energy crises. He was greatly impressed and when he wrote an article about his trip in the Church’s ENSIGN magazine, he said if you have a chance to go; do it. I thought this an unusual thing for him to share when travel was discouraged. I never thought I would have the chance. But in 1986, I was invited to give some lectures, and then later to help with Israel’s official atomic clock timekeeping system.

In 1986, I was then serving as Stake President of the Boulder Stake in Colorado. I knew I would be released the next year—after ten years of service, as President. In preparation for the trip the next year, I read the four gospels again and paid attention to where the miracles took place in detail as part of my preparations for what I thought would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Dr. Avinoam Shinhar, the director of the National Physical Laboratory for Israel, asked me to spend our first week at NPLI in Jerusalem working with their chief scientist, Dr. Alex Lepek. My wife and I ended up going to Israel four times to help them over a five-year span. Our collaborative efforts were very successful, as we tied their timing system to Universal Time (UTC) the world time standard.

While I was helping at NPLI, they had a professor who prided himself in knowing all the significant historical places both for Hebrew and Christian. At the close of each day’s work, he kindly would take us to one of these sights.

Seeking Bethany

I asked him if he would take us to Bethany. I had him stumped; he didn’t know where Bethany was. I knew about where it was from the New Testament account. So, on Friday, he said, “Let’s go find Bethany.” We went to a monastery on the south end of the Mt. Olives, and he asked a nun for directions. She directed us on the Road to Jericho to the “Bethany Souvenir Shop,” which is all that remains of Bethany. The reason he did not know where Bethany was because the name had changed.

Lazarus – Come Forth

The Savior’s raising Lazarus from the grave changed the name of the town.  The name of the town went from Bethany to the Town of Lazarus.  In Arabic, it is called al-Azariya–meaning the place where Lazarus lived. Else, why would they change the name of the town to reflect the significance of the Savior raising Lazarus from the dead?

The BYU-Israel campus in Jerusalem is unique. The chapel has glass windows on three sides: looking south to the Mt. of Olives, west to the Dome of the Rock, near where the temple was, and to the northwest to the place of crucifixion and the Garden tomb. After one of our trips to Israel, I was sitting in the chapel in our Stake Center. During the sacrament, I was envisioning in my mind’s eye this setting in Jerusalem. I started weeping in deep gratitude for the infinite atonement. I blew my nose so hard that I damaged the hearing in my left ear. Now I have a constant reminder of that experience for which I am deeply grateful.

The Orson Hyde Memorial Park is directly south of BYU-JC. It has his dedicatory prayer inscribed and is the biggest park in Jerusalem. In the prayer he shared the prophesy that Jerusalem would become the Capitol City of Israel. President Trump helped make that happen during his term of office.

After the week in Jerusalem, I gave my lectures in Tel Aviv the next week. Then I had arranged with Dan Rona to go on his tour during our last week in Israel. Dan was born in Haifa and is a Jewish convert. He knows the Hebrew traditions and history and has the glorious restoration of the fullness of the gospel perspective. His scriptures were well-worn! And he used them extensively as we went to several places in Israel—all of great significance.

Dan took us to the tomb where the Savior’s body laid for three days before His glorious resurrection. We walked into and observed that the tomb was empty. During those three days, His Spirit was in Paradise, opening up missionary work for all those in the spirit world. (1 Peter 3:18-20; 4:6)

Sermon On the Mount

Dan took us to where he believes the Sermon on the Mount was delivered overlooking the Sea of Galilee. After reading from some of those chapters in the Book of Mathew, Dan gave us time to meditate about what he had shared and the feelings associated with this beautiful spot.

There was a boat out on the Sea of Galilee about a mile away, and we could hear them talking. There were some sheep on an adjacent hillside, and it was as if they were next to us. Evidence of an acoustic miracle witness that the Savior shared this paramount sermon so that all the masses gathered could clearly hear.

As I sat pondering and meditating—looking out over the Sea of Galilee, a beautiful Spirit of the Lord washed over my whole body testifying that all those miracles I had studied about in preparation for this trip happened here in Galilee as described in the gospels.

It was this sermon with important additions that brought the Nephites in North America to become a ZION people, as described in Third Nephi 12-19. Their ideal ZION society is described in Fourth Nephi. The Prophet Joseph Smith taught, “We ought to have the building up of Zion as our greatest object.” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith [2007], 186) Elder Jeffrey Holland profoundly testifies of the same in our last LDS General Conference.

My Favorite Place

Because I have traveled a lot with the atomic clock community, I am often asked, “What is your favorite place in the world?” I always answer, “ISRAEL!” We cannot comprehend the magnitude of the infinite good Christ accomplished there for all of Father’s children—perfecting Heavenly Father’s perfect plan of happiness. I am a witness. Now you know why this was our most favorite trip! My Sweetheart (my wife Edna) shares the same witness and feelings as I do. The wonderful thought now is that we can be part of the coming ideal ZION society, which is coming for sure here in America as well as in Israel. (See Isaiah 2:2-3) The goal is to be pure in heart and to be of one mind and one heart with the Lord (D&C 38:27). The ten heavenly principles shared in Vinney Tolman’s book, THE LIGHT AFTER DEATH, has helped me in my preparations for our coming ZION society. Like the scriptures, it is a life changing book.

Over Coming Excess Stress

Spirituality,

Excess stress is the major cause of most diseases. Excess stress releases excess cortisol, which can kill millions of neurons per day. There are many books and internet suggestions for dealing with this serious problem since modern society is a trigger for excess stress. At the end of this article, I share some blog articles that may help. In this article, I share a very enjoyable way to deal with stress: beautiful music and inspiring poetry.

In the movie, JOURNEY OF MY HEART, the guide, Eric, shares that “music is abstract math and poetry is verbal math.” Music is one of seven learning centers in the brain. Language, math & Logic are two of the other learning centers, and all seven complement each other. So, for me, beautiful music and inspired poetry are profound and touch and bring joy to my soul.

The rhythm and the messages of the King James Bible—76% of it is William Tyndale—have made that book the most popular book ever written. Handel’s Messiah, based on the King James Bible verses, is the most often sung musical ever. And the King of England stood up in reverence when the Hallelujah Chorus in Handel’s Messiah was shared. Everyone now does it by tradition. Only the STAR SPANGELED BANNER in America receives that reverence and honor.

How Great the Wisdom and the Love

One of my all-time favorite poems is the last verse of “How Great the Wisdom and the Love,” composed by Eliza R. Snow. The music is inspiring as well—composed by Thomas McIntyre.

How great, how glorious, ho complete
Redemption’s grand design
Where justice, love, and mercy meet
In harmony divine!

The quatrains of Alexander Pope are awesome; I share three here:

A little learning is a dangerous thing;
Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian Spring.
There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain,
But drinking largely sobers again.

This quatrain reminds me of the phrase, “The more we know, the more we realize what we don’t know.” Being a humble seeker of truth open up the heavens.

Vice is a monster of so frightful a mien;
As to be hated needs but to be seen.
But seen too oft’ familiar with her face,
First we endure, then pity, then embrace.

If we embrace the Lord’s Spirit, we will not go there!

Nature and Nature’s Laws,
Lay hid in night.
God said, Let Newton be!
And all was light.

The world knows that Sir Isaac Newton was the greatest scientist in the world. But most don’t know that Newton wrote three words regarding his religious beliefs for every word he wrote in science. These are hidden away in the Cambridge library. Thanks to our dear friends, Professor Steven Jones and his wife Lezlee and their daughter, who went there with pencil and paper, which is allowed, and copied many of Newton’s profound religious truths. These line up beautifully with the fullness of the gospel restored by the Lord through the Prophet Joseph Smith. Chapter 3 of my new book, Time & Eternity, the End-Times & Beyond Revealed, shares many of Newton’s most important religious insights.

As the most significant scientist in the history of the world, this chapter shares, as it were, Newton’s “Religious Principia.” As an example, quoting from page 79 of my 2023 book:

In a world going awry caused by a people turning from God with ever increasing pornographic “distortions,” Newton has an elegant simple solution: “The way to chastity is not to struggle directly with incontinent thoughts but to avert the thoughts by some employment, or by reading, or by meditating on other things, or by conversation.” This reminds me of some scripture verses: “Look to me in every thought; doubt not, fear not (D&C 6:36).” AND “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the house; and it fell not for (he) was founded upon a rock (Christ) (Matt. 7:24-25).” “And whosoever treasureth up my word, shall not be deceived, for the Son of Man shall come, and he shall send his angels before him with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together the remainder of his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other (JS-M 37).”

One of my favorite poems is: “The Touch of the Master’s Hand”, also sometimes called The Old Violin, written in 1921 by Myra Brooks Welch. The poem tells of a battered old violin that is about to be sold as the last item at an auction for a pittance, until a master violinist steps out of the audience and plays the instrument, demonstrating its beauty and true value, and touching the audience to the core. The violin then sells for $3,000 instead of a mere $3. The poem profoundly ends by comparing this instrument touched by the hand of a master musician to the life of a sinner who is touched by the hand of God. The change that is wrought on a sinner’s soul, when the Savior touches his heart.

I pulled the lyrics from the scriptures for the composition that our son, Sterling, prepared for our missionary farewell. It is actually a millennial hymn. Edna gave it the title:

MESSAGE OF GLADNESS
Righteousness will I send down from heaven,
Truth will I send forth out of the Earth;
To bear testimony of mine only Begotten.
Looking forth for the time of my Coming.
In my name shall they do many wonderful works;
In my name they shall cast out devils;
In my name shall they heal the sick;
Open the eyes of the blind; Unstop the ears of the deaf;
And the tongue of the dumb shall speak, and sing Hallelujah!
My law I will write in their hearts;
I’ll be their God, and they my people.
They shall all know me—
From the least of them unto the greatest of them.
I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.
Praise the Lord, All-mighty! Declare His doings among the people.
Call upon His name; make mention His name is exalted.
Sing unto the Lord; for He has done excellent things.
Cry and shout thou inhabitants of Zion;
For great is the Holy One of Israel, in the midst of thee, Alelujah!

While teaching institute for the Moroni Stake, I added and changed some words to some of our LDS hymns. The Lord gave me the last verse for his hymn:

I Hearken to Thy Voice sung to the hymn “We Love Thy House O God.”

For me, one of the most inspiring lyrics is the third verse of the Christian hymn tune “The Love of God,” by F. H. Lehman. When I first ran across it on the internet, it deeply touched my soul. That verse is from a poem written in Germany in A.D. 1050 by a Jewish Rabbi poet, Meir Ben Isaac Nehorai. I share here the inspired translation, which is verse three of the hymn:

Could we with ink the ocean fill—
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were ev-‘ry talk on earth a quill—
And ev-‘ry man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above—
Would drain the oceans dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole—
Though stretched from sky to sky.

There is an excellent movie by the same title that shares the story of how Leyman came to write the song with his eight-year-old son’s help and the Lord’s orchestration to help it come forth. I know that our infinitely loving God is in the details of our lives if we have but eyes to see and hearts to feel.

God’s love is the motivation behind all creation and for the birthing of His spirit children—providing spirit bodies for all of the children of Adam and Eve. We don’t talk of God’s infinite love, but I do. The above lyrics come the closest to any I know of capturing God’s infinite love for each of us.

Here are two of my recent poems; the first one inspired by 
IF WE ONLY UNDERSTOOD by an anonymous author:

There is need of kinder treatment to be given by us all,
There is need that we remember when someone may err and fall,
That within the hidden motive lies the ill or lies the good,
We would treat each other better if we only understood.

If we knew the cares of others–knew the trials and knew the strain,
Under which they may be living–knew their losses and bitter pain,
We would show a better spirit; I am sure that each one could,
We would always speak more kindly, if we only understood.

MY NEW POEM GIVEN RECENT EVENTS:

We may desire to know a man’s heart,
But only God knows his thoughts from the start.
Allowing every man’s sovereignty be,
For a loving God gave us liberty.

THIS POEM CAME TO ME IN HONOR OF OUR SON, NATHAN’S 48TH BIRTHDAY:

There is no limit to the good we can do
.
We but look to heaven to guide us through.
From our heavenly home, we learned of its creeds,
To bless God’s offspring with our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Indeed, beautiful music and inspired poetry will not only reduce harmful stress, but will bring love, joy, and peace to our souls. I conclude with the Savior’s promises:
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27).

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light (Matt 11:28-30).

Are You Prepared?

Are you prepared, in body, mind, and spirit for the Glorious Millennial reign of our Lord and Savior. He will reign as KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OR LORDS (Rev. 19:16). Are you ready for the many cataclysmic events preceding that will get the world’s attention and bring about repentance?

Trusting in the Lord, we know whatever comes, will be worth it and will be for our growth—bringing us closer to our Creator. Can you imagine what it means to have the “earth rolled as a scroll?” “The face of the Lord shall be revealed” (D&C 88:95) I desire to paint an optimistic picture for you as we look at the Big Picture from the Lord’s perfect point of view as best I can.

My main goal, as I am preparing to make my 89th trip around the sun, is to help as many as I can to come to know Him. I know He is “the way, the truth, and the life, and no man cometh unto the Father but by [Him] (John 14:6). Those who reject Christ shall be “cut off” at His coming (Acts 3:20-23; JS-H 40). My heart sinks as I think of those who will do so, and there will be way too many. Help me reduce that number. I would that not one soul should parish. But given “free choice” as part of the perfect plan, we know there will be many (Alma 29:1-9).

Follow the Counsel of Our Savior

If you really want to know what the future holds, follow the counsel of our Savior: “…a commandment I give unto you that ye search these things diligently; for great are the words of Isaiah. For surely he spake as touching all things concerning my people which are of the house of Israel; therefore it must needs be that he must speak also to the Gentiles. And all things that he spake have been and shall be, even according to the words which he spake (3 Nephi 23:1-3).


Nephi shares this powerful insight regarding the writings of Isaiah: “…in the days that the prophecies of Isaiah shall be fulfilled men shall know of a surety, at the times when they shall come to pass. Wherefore, they are of worth unto the children of men, and he that supposeth that they are not, unto them will I speak particularly, and confine the words unto mine own people; for I know that they shall be of great worth unto them in the last days; for in that day shall they understand them; (2 Nephi 25:7-8).” (Bolding is mine.)

And Nephi’s brother, Jacob, shares his hopeful insights into Isaiah’s writings, “Behold, my beloved brethren, I speak unto you these things that ye may rejoice, and lift up your heads forever,… (2 Nephi 9:3)” Then Jacob goes on in this same chapter to give us one of the best discussions of the Lord’s infinite atonement that we have anywhere in holy writ. He does that after sharing from three chapters in Isaiah.

Nephi also shares that the Apostle John will write about the last days; hence, we have the incredible Book of Revelations (1 Nephi 14:26-28). Then a thousand years later, the Lord tells Moroni, “And then shall my revelations which I have caused to be written by my servant John be unfolded in the eyes of all the people. Remember, when ye see these things, ye shall know that the time is at hand that they shall be made manifest in very deed (Ether 4:16).”

Understanding and Insights

The Book of Mormon is the best commentary on the Book of Isaiah. Nephi, his brother Jacob, Abinadi, and the Savior do extensive Hebrew explanations of several chapters in the Book of Isaiah. Their goal is to help us best be prepared for the days ahead. They use what is called Hebrew Midrash to explain and amplify Isaiah’s great book. My good Jewish convert friends, David Doane and Rob Kay taught me that the Book of Mormon is the richest book on the planet in using Hebrew Midrash to understand what Isaiah is sharing with us for our eternal benefit.

We are also greatly blessed to have Avraham Gileadi’s insights in understanding Isaiah. As a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and coming from the Jewish-Israel culture, he is probably the best scholar in the world to help us understand Isaiah’s message for our day, in detail.  As a convert, he learned that the Book of Mormon is the best book to help us understand Isaiah and his message for our day. Having spent five years in Israel, as a convert to Judaism, he was very familiar with the writings of Isaiah. Now he is helping the world be so and providing a great blessing to many. I have been blessed greatly by his work and am grateful to have him as a trusted friend. We have shared each other’s books.

Uncertainty of the Future

Most people fear the uncertainty of the future. Fear, hate, contentions, prejudice, pride, and the like are tools of the devil. As a result, suicides are epidemic. Hope, love, joy, and peace are the fruits of the Spirit. These fruits help us to look beyond the storms and challenges that are a part of life. The Lord has counseled, that all these things shall give the experience and be for thy good, if thou shalt endure it well, thou shalt be exalted on high (D&C 121:8; 122:7).” He further promises, “But if ye are prepared, ye shall not fear (D&C 38:30).”

Satan knows it is his last hour before that great Millennial Epoch, and he and his minions are perpetrating massive deceit across the globe. We have the Lord’s promise that as we treasure up His word we shall not be deceived (JS-M 37).

Exciting Times Are Happening Now

The native Americans are coming forth and blossoming as a rose. It has been wonderful to learn from Chief Midegah of the Ojibwe tribe (David Taylor). When we first put up our YouTube interview with him, there were over 50 thousand views in one week. Since our interview with Chief Midegah, many other YouTube hosts have interviewed him. People are hungry for the truth and to know what is going on now and anciently in America. Once you listen to him, you will realize, as I did, that there is massive misunderstanding about the Native Americans. He takes it all the way back to the Prophet Noah, and his seven sacred teachings. (See several Podcasts with Chief Midegah on BookofMormonHeartland.com.)

Brian Nettles, who has studied ancient languages and is an expert in Ancient American artifacts, is hosting a conference this September 20th and 21st in Fond Du Lac, WI. Brian has an excellent set of speakers for Friday on the Book of Mormon, and on Saturday Chief Midegah and his Jewish Rabbi brothers, as well as other native Americans, will be giving major insights into their history, heritage, and sacred writings. My theme for what is happening is “voices from the dust and native American voices.” (Isaiah 29:4)

Brian and Michael Claridge interviewed me about an amazing stone depicting the Savior’s infinite atonement given to Wayne May by Russell Burrows. The small gold plates that Joseph Smith translated in Fayette, NY, were written in Demonic Egyptian. This translation was the last one to complete the Book of Mormon and is the unabridged part from 1 Nephi to the Book of Omni. One of the scribes for Joseph at the Peter Whitmer farm was John Whitmer. John copied off some of those characters and Brian has been able to translate many of them. The title page of the Book of Mormon tells of Mormon and Moroni’s abridgement of the Nephite’s and the Jaredite’s records. This is the last of the Book of Mormon from Mosiah to Moroni. The small plates came later. So, we have the FIRST of the Book of Mormon being translated LAST, and the LAST of the Book of Mormon being translated FIRST in Harmony, PA. This part of the translation was done before they went to Fayette, NY. The Savior shares: ” as the words have gone forth out of my mouth even so shall they be fulfilled, that the first shall be last, and that the last shall be first in all things whatsoever I have created by the word of my power, which is the power of my Spirit (D&C 29:30).” (Bolding mine.)

The Capitol of Israel Moved to Jerusalem

In my book, Time & Eternity, The End-Times & Beyond Revealed, I share the dedicatory prayer of Orson Hyde for Jerusalem on the Mount of Olives (Sunday 24 October 1841). Here is a fascinating paragraph from that prayer:

Do Thou now… to inspire the hearts of kings and the powers of the earth to look with a friendly eye towards this place [Jerusalem], and with a desire to see Thy righteous purposes executed in relation therein. Let them know that it is Thy good pleasure to restore the kingdom unto Israel—to raise up Jerusalem as its capital, and constitute her people a distinct nation and government, with David Thy servant, even descendant from the loins of ancient David to be their king.

While Donald Trump was President of the USA, he successfully helped move the capital of Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Ezekiel describes the role of “my servant David” (Ezekiel 34:23-31) relevant to this major transition occurring. Isaiah, the Book of Mormon, and Avraham in his books have much to say about the important role of the Davidic servant.

Exciting Times Ahead

From the scriptures, we learn that we will help the Lamanites build a temple in Jackson County Missouri. In Orson Pratt’s formatting of the Book of Mormon (1906), he has a footnote to 2 Nephi 3:24 sharing that, “And there shall rise up one mighty among them (the Lamanites), who shall do much good…” the footnote reads, “Indian Prophet.”

The scriptures are clear that many more records are to come forth. Neil Maxwell shared at BYU that now we carry around our “Quad;” he jokingly shared that in the future we may need a “little red wagon” to carry them. By the Quad, he means the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price.

We live in the most exciting time in the history of the earth. “Let us look to God and Live.” the abundant life He has promised now (Alma 37:47; John 10:10) and look forward to the glorious day when He comes again. The purging times ahead will bring about great repentance with Zion (pure in heart who are of one mind and one heart) society to be the Bride to meet the Bridegroom at His coming. The great hope is that we can be part of that society.

I believe with Chief Midegah that we are at the beginning of an extremely important seven year period.. We look forward to many more records. Then we have Nephi’s great counsel and promise:

Wherefore, ye must press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men. Wherefore, if ye shall press forward, feasting upon the word of Christ, and endure to the end, behold, thus saith the Father: Ye shall have eternal life. (2 Nephi 31:20)

The Land Of Promise Testified

The Land of Promise is testified by modern scripture, by the DNA of the North American Indians, by glottology (the study of languages), and by artifacts and archeology. The oral histories of native Americans and the living voices of the North American Indians also testify that the Promised Land of the Book of Mormon is not in Central or South America.

Book of Mormon Conferences

About 12 years ago, Rod Meldrum of “Book of Mormon Evidence” began to offer Conferences that supported the thesis that the Book of Mormon peoples resided in the “Heartland” of America” rather than in South America. Since then, there has been more and more evidence to support the claim that Lehi and his family came from Israel to the North American Continent. Duane Erickson, Wayne May, Steve Smoot, Jonathan Neville and several others have contributed significantly to this knowledge base.

Recently, “The Land of Promise” Conference was held last week on June 21-22, 2024 in Spanish Fork Utah. All conference speakers supported the thesis that the Book of Mormon events took place in Israel and the North American Continent. I’m guessing about 900 people were attending the conference. There were 15 Individual speakers over the two days.

Special Guest Chief Midegah

Wayne May, the conference founder and organizer, was able to obtain a last-minute special guest to speak at the conference. It was Chief Midegah from the Ojibwe tribe. He came to the forefront about a month ago when my good friends, Brian Nettles, David Hocking, Kristen Watts, and I had the opportunity to interview Chief Midegah on YouTube. The exposure created a whirlwind. Several other YouTube hosts were anxious to interview Chief Midegah also.
Within a week, there were over a hundred thousand visits to various YouTube sites. His information has taken YouTube by storm. Chief Midegah is a Chief to be reckoned with. Details about his background and credentials can be found on the Book of Mormon Heartland website.

Conference Speakers

Chief Midegah gave two lectures at the conference sharing tons of fascinating information about native American history. He was the main drawing card for the conference. All of the conference lectures were excellent.

It was wonderful to meet the chief personally. Wayne May took this picture of us, and the Chief said to me, “David and David;” His name is David Taylor.

My good friend and researcher, Utahna Jessop, spoke about the Jaredite giants in North America. She recently found Jaredite burials near Kanab, Utah. She shared some new additional information. It was fascinating.

John Brewer kept a journal, and Utahna followed his research in detail.  She has done a great job in documenting his findings in the cave that he found in Manti, Utah. When he found the cave, he was visited by an angel by the name of Ether who told him to protect his findings and do nothing for monetary gain. For those who may not be familiar with the Book of Mormon, Ether was the last prophet before the Jaredite nation was destroyed in a massive civil war around 600 B.C. ending near the Hill Cumorah in upstate New York.

I told Utahna that her findings were “pure gold.” She has an excellent DVD telling of her additional research. Some of her lectures are available on YouTube. She is a dear friend of ours and has permitted me to share her phone number (801) 717-6295 if you wish to get a DVD of her lecture from her directly.

Highlights of My Conference Address

1. Since the conference was held close to the date and time of the summer solstice (2051 UTC, 20 June 2024) and we had a full moon, I pointed out to the audience that makes the moon’s orbit the lowest while the sun’s orbit is the highest for us north of the “Tropic of Cancer.” The opposite is true for those south of the “Tropic of Capricorn.”

2. I pointed out that the great Jaredite prophet, Mahonri Moriancumer, saw the end from the beginning in his comprehensive vision. As a result, the Jaredites knew the phases of the moon, and they mapped out the plan of salvation in the majestic earthworks near Newark, Ohio. They knew, as part of his vision, that the moon would be in the position of the divine ratio—lined up with the millennium and celestial kingdom at the date and time of Savior’s birth.

3. The printing of the Book of Mormon was a major compressed-time miracle. It should have taken at least 17 ½ months to print and bind 5,000 copies, but it was done in the Lord’s compressed-time frame of just over 6 months. In addition, the Lord revealed to me that He had Joseph Smith print them so that the height by width was in the Divine ratio—a unique feature. Both of these are Divine “fingerprints” of the Lord’s doings with the coming forth of that great book and made Utah a state around that book.

4. The Lord has blessed me greatly because as a praying physicist I have chosen to do things His way rather than my way. I shared how He has made my name and work famous in the precise timing, navigation, and telecom communities. Now because He has done that for me, I am able to share the gospel across the globe. My book’s website, www.ItsAboutTimeBook.com, has well over 200 thousand visits from over 100 nations. And its popularity is ever-increasing regardless of whether I am alive or dead! If you Google “Allan variance,” you will get over three million results, and its usefulness continues to grow. THANK YOU, LORD!

Once the Lord taught me that the original copies of the Book of Mormon were printed in the Divine ratio. I had my next book (2023), Time & Eternity, The End-Times & Beyond Revealed, printed in the Divine ratio in honor of those first 5,000 copies.

5. From the scriptures, I shared that the first law of heaven is LOVE. And that celestial love is equivalent to celestial obedience because we do things to please the Lord. That takes obedience out of the “do your duty” level to the joy of bringing honor and glory to the Lord. As we do things with an “eye single” to His glory, the joy in our hearts follows. If everyone were to live the Law of Love, it would solve all the world’s problems. We would have an ideal pure-in-heart ZION society where we are all of one heart are one mind. And there would be no poor among us.

6. There are 1,800 phrases in our scriptures that tie back to the language of Adam. Their distribution and use in both the eastern and western hemispheres and over the history of the earth give pure Divine validity to our scriptures. True science harmonizes with true religion, which is a fundamental message of my book, It’s About Time.

7. In my search for truth, I have three criteria: 1) If God says it, then I know it; 2) We cannot prove a theory true, we don’t know enough, only God knows enough; but 3) If we have reliable data, we can prove a theory false. The theory of organic evolution and the big bang theory have been proven false, and the world chooses to ignore those proofs. I examine the two theories for Book of Mormon geography: Heartland and Mesoamerica. I share nine proofs that the Mesoamerica theory is false, and I share the words from the prophets that the Heartland model is correct.

8. The Lord gives us signs in the heavens. There were three recent solar eclipses over the USA making alpha and omega over the “Land of Promise.” Also, I share the Lord’s sign in the heavens on the 23rd of September 2017 of His promise to bring forth Zion in preparation for His coming—as promised in Revelations Chapter 12.

9. The story of Vinney Tolman happened in 2003 in Orem, Utah. It was a remarkable Lazurus experience for Vinney because he died and was put in a body bag. The Spirit whispered to the EMT attending, “This man is not dead!” He took action and brought him back from the dead. While across the veil, Vinney was taught ten celestial principles by his great-great-great grandfather, as he moved ever closer to the LIGHT:
1. Be authentic.
2. Understand the purpose of life. Life is not a test, but a grand opportunity to learn the truth.
3. Love everyone. God’s main motivation is to love; His creations and our lives are a direct manifestation of His infinite love.
4. Listen to your inner voice. (See Moroni 7:29-31)
5. Use technology responsibly. Many are addicted to technology–their cell phones, e.g.
6. Release prejudice. There is no prejudice in heaven.
7. Exercise the power of creation. Our Creator made us to be creators.
8. Avoid negative influences.
9. Understand the purpose of evil. All the evil in the world has caused many to turn to atheism or agnosticism because they don’t understand. (Read Chapter 2 of It’s About Time to get a full understanding.
10. Know that we are all one. The Savior prayed for us to be one (John 17), and it was brought to beautiful fruition here in the Land of Promise (Read Third Nephi 19).

September Conference in Fond Du Lac Wisconsin

Brian Nettles has organized a conference this September in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin, and attendance is already sold out. He has opened up Saturday to Chief Midegah. The Chief is bringing two Rabbis and five other Native American friends. They will be sharing their Ojibwe Outreach historical information. On Friday, Brian has several other notable speakers on the Book of Mormon. It should be a fascinating conference.

Through The Fire Without Burning

Through the Fire Without Burning is a book by Dumitru Duduman published in 1992. The book was written over 30 years ago but has amazing relevance to what we are experiencing in today’s world. It is a true story of a Romanian paster facing communist persecution.

From Duduman’s Book

For 25 years, Dumitru Duduman was a faithful pastor and Bible smuggler in his native land of Romania. “Over 18 years, he delivered hundreds of thousands of Bibles and aids to Soviet Union …  In August of 1980, Dumitru was arrested, imprisoned, and interrogated for five months. He was beaten almost every day and repeatedly shocked in an electric chair… Finally, the authorities gave Dumitru three choices; a mental hospital, prison… or expulsion to the United States.” He was prompted to come to America and preach repentance.

90’s Firesides Featuring Duduman

In the early 90’s I was privileged to know Dumitru personally, as our son, Sterling, arranged for him to tell his amazing story in a series of firesides from Arizona through Utah and into Idaho.

Recently, our good friend, Loren Pearce, sent me an e-mail summarizing the relevance of Dimitru Duduman’s prophesy for our day in clear terms concerning a nuclear attack by Russia on the USA. He has generously permitted me to share his communication.

Dear Family and Friends,

In the early 90’s, Sterling Allan arranged for Pastor Dumitru Duduman to come to Utah and speak at various venues about his vision, while awake and with the assistance of an angel, of a nuclear bomb attack on the USA.

Briefly, Duduman was an atheist communist agent in Romania and spent his time persecuting Christians who brought in contraband Bibles to Romania.  He had a miraculous conversion similar to the Apostle Paul and became a devout Christian defender of the Bible.

He was told to come to the USA and preach repentance to the people.  Sterling was instrumental in helping that happen.  I won’t get into the details but I remember feeling the spirit testify of the truthfulness of Duduman’s message and what was burned into my mind as if it was yesterday (although over 30 years ago), was the following:

Duduman said that he was shown by an angel that there would arise a major civil unrest in the USA bordering on a civil war and that so disruptive was this civil unrest to the successful operation of the country that Russia would take advantage of it and launch a nuclear attack on the USA.  He was shown the various cities that would be attacked, and I remember it included Florida, Las Vegas, New York, and Los Angeles, among others. He said Russia knew exactly where the USA’s nuclear weapons were located and would be very precise in where they sent their nukes.  The resulting destruction, death, mayhem, chaos, and lawlessness were everything one would expect and worse.

Most importantly, this horrific action against the USA was a result of the breadth and depth of the moral decay, depravation, evil, and wickedness that saturated the USA.  He especially emphasized abortion as among the most abominable of sins and whose stench had reached the heavens.

Over the years, I began to doubt if this would ever happen. However, there are two dynamics at play that more than ever, could fulfill his vision.

  1. NATO is crossing Putin’s red line by sending troops into Ukraine, by using American weapons on Russian territory and other actions that could provoke Russia to use nukes which could rapidly escalate.  Many experts say the world is closer to nuclear war than even the Cuban missile crisis.
  2. The recent conviction of Donald Trump, the high probability of putting him into prison and the high probability of the secret service not being given custody of the prison, could invoke an armed uprising that fulfills Duduman’s vision.  Not since the Civil War between the North and the South, has the nation been more divided nor has there been a bigger disregard of the Constitution.  In fact, not even the Civil War had a people more wicked than what we have now with abortions approaching 100 million and pedophilia, child torture and abuse and other unspeakable sins possessing the country.  We have never been more ripe for destruction than now.
  3. If we have not reached that ripened (or rotten) state, I don’t know when we will.  It behooves us to be prepared.  Now, more than any other time in my lifetime, have we reached that precipice, nor have we had all the pieces in place for destruction and fulfillment of Duduman’s vision while he was awake.
  4. We should consider all the aspects of preparation including evacuation plans, alternate routes, alternate transportation, communication, gathering points, etc.

My Thoughts and Cognition

Duduman’s insight for our day reminds me of Nephi’s prophecy for our day.
“Wherefore, he will preserve the righteous by his power, even if it so be that the fulness of his wrath must come, and the righteous be preserved, even unto the destruction of their enemies by fire. Wherefore, the righteous need not fear; for thus saith the prophet, they shall be saved, even if it so be as by fire. Behold, my brethren, I say unto you, that these things must shortly come; yea, even blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke must come; and it must need be upon the face of this earth, and it cometh unto men according to the flesh if it so is that they will harden their hearts against the Holy One of Israel (1 Nephi 22:17-18).”
 
And the scripture Moroni shared with the Prophet Joseph Smith from Joel:
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit. And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call (Joel 2:28-32).”

Unfortunately, we see wickedness increasing throughout the world. In two previous blog articles, I have expressed America’s greatest need is to repent and return to the Lord: America’s Future at the Crossroads and America’s Greatest Need to Repent.

In his book, Duduman tells of a safe place and it seems to be describing the ZION of the Lord. He calls it the “Camp of the Lord” and quotes from Revelations 21:3. This reminds me of the promises the Lord makes in Doctrine and Covenants Section 45.

We, of course, don’t know if such an attack will occur or if so when. It behooves us to be watchmen on the tower and to look at the signs of the times. Most importantly, let the Spirit guide you in doing His work and His will for you.

On the other side of the purging of the wickedness in the world is the Glorious reign of the King of kings, and Lord of lords. And we have the Lord’s promise for the righteous (Nephi 22:22; D&C 29:1-2; 45:67-71).

P.S. If such an attack should occur, having good iodine levels in your diet are important. Having access to a basement or a bomb shelter could save lives if you are in a vulnerable area. I found it interesting that in Switzerland, every new home is required to have a serviceable bomb shelter. Having a Geiger counter with neutron detection capability could be very useful. Neutron bombs are tactical weapons designed to kill the local populace and minimize structural destruction.

The Bicycle and the Latter Days

I believe bicycles will be an important transportation necessity in the latter days. We are facing critical times  If the grid goes down, many will be without transportation because of the technology that our cars now have. That is… if you don’t have a bike.

Not only should we prepare for the future, but taking care of our health is vital if we desire to live a long life. I am on my 88th trip around the sun and am still riding a mountain bike. About five years ago, my family helped me buy an e-bike. I call it my “assisted living” bicycle! I have about five thousand miles on it now. It is an extremely well-engineered bicycle made right here in Linden, Utah, by Fazzari (now ARI). A bicycle has been shown to be the most efficient means of transport.

After getting my e-bike, I helped Fezzari fine-tune some FIRMWARE issues, and it was fun. There is a saying in the computer programming world, “There is always one more bug”. The folks at Fezzari appreciated the help.  They like me for that and over time I have purchased three bikes from them. Plus, I am an “assisted living” mountain biker!

Improvements In Bicycle Technology

With the vast improvements in bicycle technology has come the need for high-tech maintenance and repairs. The prices have inflated as well. My family helped me buy my e-bike about five years ago for $2.5k. I looked at an e-bike the other day for $6k. Given the rising price trend, I was thinking about how to reverse that—having low maintenance and low cost. I asked myself, does anyone make a low-maintenance—highly reliable, and reasonably priced bike?

I found one on sale at COSTCO for $500. Made by Brilliant, it has a carbon-fiber belt drive that should last forever, and a simple and very reliable three-speed shifter in the hub—like the old Sturmey-Archer. Again, my family is helping me buy it for an early Father’s Day gift this year (2024). It only weighs 28 pounds and is fun to ride around town. It is NOT a mountain bike!

I put a lot of miles on an old Schwinn Sturmey-Archer 3-speed shifter many years ago. I was so impressed with that technology that I took the hub apart. It has a simple planetary gear system pulled by a spring-loaded cable. In the center is a direct drive. Gear 1 shifts down and number 3 shifts up. This Brilliant bicycle is configured similarly with a three-speed shifter in the hub. I am hoping it lasts forever as well.

Again, I believe bicycles will be an important transportation necessity in the future. It’s wise to have a good patch kit, spare tires, and tubes. It will be helpful to have on hand a simple means to maintain and repair these low-tech bicycles.

Strengthening Your Health

In 2018, I wrote an article on bicycle efficiency and health. As I mentioned, the bicycle is the most efficient means of transport. It also opens the door to fresh air, enjoyment of God’s creations, excellent near-far eye exercise while mountain biking, and great meditation time as the heart and lungs are exercised aerobically, and the brain works better.

I used to be an early morning jogger to get my aerobic exercise. When my knees started giving me problems, I went to bicycling. My knees got better. Our director for the lab in Boulder, CO, was Bob Kamper—a good friend and colleague. He was an avid runner and had won the Pike’s Peak climb race more than once; this race is more than a marathon in endurance. He told me a few years ago that he had begun biking instead of running because of knee problems.  His knees had gotten better, as had happened for me.

Our bones are piezoelectric. They generate a voltage as they are used, which signals the brain to accommodate your exercise. I believe using your bones properly keeps them elastic in case you fall. Thus, avoiding osteoporosis. It has done that for me. This is another benefit from riding a bicycle, as you bounce along a mountain trail—enjoying the scenery and communing with the Lord. Occasionally, I will take a tumble. I have learned over the years how to fall, and I almost always come up smiling.

For those having balance issues, adult tricycles are available as well.

Prepare for the Future

Before the Lord comes again, we may see some difficult times requiring strong faith in the Lord. An EMP attack could take down the grid and cut off transportation. It is wise to prepare for the future. Our Creator created us to be creators. I believe every problem has a solution, and the Lord knows the answer, ours to understand, as we seek Him in humble prayer (Matt 7:7-8).

We have the great promise that He will gather us as a hen gathers her chickens under her wing if we come unto Him, humble ourselves, and call upon Him in mighty prayer (D&C 29:1-2). I believe we live in the most exciting time in the earth’s history, as we anticipate His coming and the ZION ideal society that the Lord will bring forth with those who are true followers of His Beloved Son.

The Transcendency of Mother’s Love

I view a mother’s love as being the most important contribution to pure love on this planet outside the manifestation of God’s love. For me, a mother’s love and that of a caring-loving teacher are the preeminent positions of all. Yet, they are paid the least. They do more to distribute the pure love of Christ in this world regardless of their religion. A mother’s “Pure Love” for her offspring is like the pure love of God.

The impact of caring-loving teachers in my life is enormous. My mother and grandmothers were great role models of God’s pure love in my life. My wife’s pure love for our children is a great blessing in my life.

A Unique Gift

I learned from Ralph Jensen’s near-death experience (NDE) that our intelligences have gender Our intelligences are eternal. The female intelligence has this unique gift of pure love for each of her offspring. Heavenly Mother has infinite and perfect love for all of Heavenly Father’s children. God’s pure-perfect and infinite love is the passion for God’s marvelous creations and for each of us. This is why God is always there as we reach out to God in prayer. Because of God’s perfect and infinite love for us, He answers every sincere prayer in the timeframe that is best for us.

The Bible’s Portrayal of a Mother’s Transcendent Love

Some men were discussing which translation of the Bible was best. One of them said, “I like my mother’s translation the best. She translated it into life!” We set aside the second Sunday in May to celebrate “Mother’s Day.” I believe this should be a year around opportunity. I hope and pray that we will have deep-loving appreciation to all mothers—especially including our own mothers and on both sides of the veil.

In the movie, A Man Called Peter, based on the book written by his wife, Catherine Wood Marshall, she shares a beautiful message. Catherine paints a picture of how Peter shared in a sermon that Christ elevates women above men in their most important role in life. It is fascinating that in apocryphal literature we read that the resurrected Lord first appeared to His mother, Mary. Can you imagine the trauma Mary went through because of what her Son, our Savior, went through as He was falsely accused, tried, and crucified?

We read in the gospel of Joseph of Arimathea transliterated from Old English by Dezert-Owl; fortunately, I have become friends with him. This gospel describes Mary’s anguish: “SHE STOOD OUT-SIDE Ov TOMB, CRYING BITTERLY (25:74).” Thinking Him dead, she didn’t recognize Him, as He appeared before her, “DRESSED in A BRYGHT-WHITE ROBE Ov LYGHT (25:110).” He asked her, “Why Are YOU BURSTING-OUT In TEARZ Ov A-Fection [over an] “Empty-Tomb (25:112).” “I [have] RELEASED All Ov Thoze Who Were [in the Spirit-world] Who ARE WORTHY [all the way back to Adam and Eve] (25:158).” “THEN SHE ROZE-UP, AN SHE GAVE HYM A GREAT EMBRACE (25:163).” “Then THE VIRGIN-MOTHER Looked Be-Hind HYM, An She Saw The GREAT-NUMBERZ THAT HE HAD TAKEN-UP, Out-From The Grave, ALL DRESSED-UP, IN THEIR PURE-WHITE ROBEZ (25:167).” He told her, “I Am Now PRESENTING Them Az THE GREAT-OFFERING BeFore… Father Az I DELIVER Them To PARADISE (25:166).” Mary’s heart was overwhelmed with joy when she realized what her Son had accomplished. Yet, she saw only a touch of His infinite atonement.

Mary Magdalene, His wife, saw Him immediately after. She went from the depts of despair to the heights of ecstasy when He called her name, “Mary (John 20:16).” In some translations, she also embraced the Lord.

Givers of Life

Ralph Jensen, a dear friend, in his NDE, was taught by Christ. He wrote a book by that title. In it he shares that when the Lord showed him the events in the Garden of Eden, everything was in awe as Eve entered the Garden—”the mother of all living.” In another blog article, I share much more of what the Lord taught Ralph. Ralph points out why Satan hates women so much. They are the “givers of life.” Satan is about depopulation and abortion—to destroy life. Righteous mothers are the great givers of life. Let us do everything we can to honor them in that most sacred role.

Our Mortal Birth is a Grand Opportunity to Learn TRUTH

It is fascinating that Heavenly Father needed the virgin Mary to give birth to His Son–the Son of God (Luke 1:35). For God so loved the world that He did so, and Mary was the virtuous channel. This opened the door for the Savior to give the world His perfect life, and teachings, and the most important gift of His infinite atonement. He is the way and the truth and the life (John 14:6). It is Christ who opens the door for us to partake of the greatest gift of God—eternal life (D&C 14:7). As we come unto Christ, He provides the opportunity for the greatest joy in this life (John 10:10) and a fullness of joy in the world to come (Ps. 16:10; D&C 93:33-34). His path is the path to LIGHT and TRUTH (D&C 84:45).

Further, the Savior profoundly said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32).” And “If the Son therefore shall make you free ye shall be free indeed (John 8:36).” “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).”

The Will of the Father in the Midst of the Challenges

Doing the will of the Father, Mary gave birth to her Son, the Son of God, in the most-humble of circumstances (Luke 2). Jesus’ life, teachings, and infinite atonement perfected Heavenly Father’s perfect plan of happiness. As we think about Jesus’ incomprehensible contributions, we need to look back to the pre-mortal epoch. Then, under the direction of the Father, He created the heavens and the earth for us to live on. We cannot offer sufficient praise for all He has done, is doing, and will be doing in helping Father “bring to pass the immortality and eternal life [of all of us] (Moses 1:39).”

In the midst of all the challenges of life, we cannot imagine a better plan. It is these challenges that give us the opportunity to grow and to learn from them. As we look to Him in every thought—life becomes a grand experience to grow in TRUTH and LIGHT (D&C 84:45). He is the way and the truth and the life, and Mary gave Him birth to do the will of the Father perfectly because of His and Heavenly Mother’s infinite love for us.

We cannot comprehend God’s incomprehensible and infinite love for each of us. A mother’s transcendent love for each of her offspring is type and shadow of this pure-love of God.

The Book: THE LIGHT AFTER DEATH

We have had our raising of Lazarus from the dead experience here in Orem, Utah in 2003. Vincent (Vinney) Todd Tolman shares his well-documented story in this incredibly enlightening and well-written book. During the time he was dead and while being brought back to life, he had an amazing tour guide. Vinney’s Great-great-great Grandfather, Drake. Drake took him step-wise through ten heavenly realms. He teaches him ten life-changing principles while in the spirit world. And he teaches him of the significance of the world religions—including the atheistic “religion of darkness.” This book was life-changing for me.

These ten principles–most appropriate for our day and the–“End-Times” are:
1. Be authentic.
2. Understand the purpose of life.
3. Love everyone.
4. Listen to your inner voice.
5. Use technology responsibly.
6. Release prejudice.
7. Exercise the power of creation.
8. Avoid negative influences.
9. Understand the purpose of evil.
10. Know that we are all one.

Reading this short 162-page book, I learned some very valuable lessons. It was definitely a life-changing experience for me and for the better. I was so impressed with the book that I have written a book report—sharing some of my insights as well.

This book really resonated with me because I have had several life-changing spiritual experiences in my career path.  Back in 1956, I took a five-hour missionary preparation class at BYU from Professor Ellsworth. Our text for the class was the New Testament, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. This class also changed my life. I fell in love with these books and the author of them—our Creator, God.

This turned me into a praying physicist. Many of the inventions I am credited with bringing forth came as a result of an answer to prayer. Some of these are documented in the IEEE’s ORAL HISTORY of my life.

The New York Times best-selling author, Richard Paul Evans, wrote the forward to The Light After Death. He said the book was life changing for him as well. His The Christmas Box, novel has been turned into a movie by the same title. He sells Vinney’s book on his website. I have arranged for my publisher, Boyd Tuttle, to sell the book: digitalegend.com. It is also available on Amazon. I was so impressed with the book that I bought several copies for family and friends. As a result of reading the book, everyone worldwide is my friend!

In my 88th trip around the sun, this book is helping me in my fundamental goal in life—to help bring people to Christ. I know He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life (John 14:6). The above ten principles are all Christ-centered. In my new book, Time & Eternity, the End-Times & Beyond Revealed, I share that all who accept Christ will make it into the millennium. I believe this book is helping people on that path. And all will have a chance to hear the fullness of the gospel before His Second Coming (D&C 90:11). Those who reject Him will be “cut off” at His Coming (JS-H 40).

Vinney’s spiritual sensitivity grew tremendously because of what he learned on the other side of the veil. He shares an inspiring example of his sensitivity to others’ needs on page 154. He and a friend were going to a cafe to have lunch. Vinney noticed a homeless man walking, who looked tired and hungry. He reached out in prayer for him.

“I sent my thoughts to the man’s guides and asked, ‘Is he going to the same cafe we are?'”

“I felt the reply, ‘No, he’s going to keep walking past it.'”

“Can you urge him to go inside?” It’s a hot day, and he can cool off for a minute.”

“Yes.”

When Vinney ordered he got another order for the homeless man. They sat down and when the homeless man walked in and sat down, Vinney took his tray of food and drink to him and said to him, “Here’s your lunch.” The homeless man looked at him with a puzzled look and with a smile of gratitude. Vinney’s friend sat there “in wide-eyed surprise at what had just happened.”

Vinney shares, “I have learned that the more we are mindful of the needs of those around us, the happier we are, and the fewer needs we feel for ourselves.”

Notice how Vinney honored the man’s agency (free choice).

Easter and The Heart Of The Earth

What did Jesus mean when he said in Mathew 12:39-40, “The Heart of the Earth“?  Jesus said, “An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth (Matt. 12:39-40).”  Again, what did he mean?

In a podcast, I share a picture of a stone found by Russell Burrows here in North America describing Jesus’ atonement: His crucifixion, three days in the tomb. During those three days, His spirit went to the spirit world to open up missionary work there in the “heart of the earth” as He said. This was the sixth step in His infinite atonement. Did you know the spirit world is the “heart of the earth?” The stone also depicts His glorious resurrection overcoming Satan. Further, it depicts the eleven Apostles as well as Judas’ betrayal. As described in my book, It’s About Time, there are neurons in the heart and in the gut. You have heard the expression, “I have a gut feeling…” It is our heart that communes with God’s angels as we ask, seek, and knock (Matt. 7:7-8) Our heart is them communing with the “heart of the earth”—those commissioned by God to teach us His eternal truths.

This is why the Lord asks us to pray, “Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” The Kingdom of Heaven is perfectly organized in the spirit world to assist us we sincerely pray. Our hearts are then communing with the “heart of the earth,” as He did during those monumental three days.

The Easter most Christians celebrate follows the Catholic tradition. The Catholic tradition also has the crucifixion happening on “Good Friday.” In the podcast, I share from the Burrows’ Stone that both traditions are false. He was crucified on Thursday, and His spirit went to the “heart of the earth” (paradise in the spirit world) to open up the preaching of the gospel there. There are about ten times more folks there—in the “heart of the earth” — than here on earth. The Lord revealed this insight to my heart!

The Eastern and Russian Orthodox have Easter on the right date. I am editing this on Saturday (6 April 2024)–the Savior’s birthday. It was known and celebrated by the Jaredites and the Nephites, as shown in their earthworks near Newark, Ohio. Good Thursday was last Thursday, and this Sunday is the proper date for Easter. Please join me in celebrating what should be the most important annual celebration rejoicing in the glorious resurrection of our Lord and Savior. And let us think about and rejoice with the countless saints who have also been resurrected, and who are greatly rejoicing with their resurrection as well because the Lord overcame death and hell.

When is Easter?

When is Easter? In my opinion, Easter should be the most celebrated annual event in our lives. There is nothing more important than the infinite atonement of our Lord and Savior. The Lord’s glorious resurrection capstone is the most important event in history.

Most of the Christian world follows the Catholic tradition of Easter being on the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the 21st of March. They take the 21st of March being the Vernal Equinox. Thus, this year the Christian world generally celebrates Easter Sunday on the 31st of March.

I am writing this on Thursday the 28th of March 2024, which following the Catholic dating for Easter, is for me Good Thursday. Their tradition indicates that Christ was crucified on Friday, and they call that Good Friday. But we know this is wrong from John 19:31 and from apocryphal literature. In the Hebrew calendar, the Lord had orchestrated two Sabbaths in a row for this most important event.

Thursday – Fulfilling Prophecy

He was crucified on Thursday fulfilling His prophecy to the Jews. He gave them a sign: Jonah spent three days and three nights in the whale’s belly, He would spend three days and three nights in the heart of the Earth (Matt. 12:40). I document the three days in a podcast and in a blog article. Good Friday is a false tradition that originated with Catholicism and the world has followed.

What we know of in the scriptures is that He was crucified on Thursday. Crucified at noon He endured indescribable suffering for the sins of the world for those three hours (Matt. 27:45; 3 Nephi 8:5-19). The Earth, which He had created mourned with him with enormous destructions and tempest. We also know that it happened on the fourth day of the 34th year after His birth. This is described in Third Nephi, Chapter 8, verse 5. What we don’t know is if the Nephites counted their years as the earth went around the sun. They may have followed a Hebrew tradition for their calendar.

His Glorious Resurrection

His glorious resurrection, the first Easter, occurred that Sunday morning, the 7th day after the 34th year after His birth. Because of the vision of the brother of Jared (Mahonri Moriancumer), he knew the end from the beginning. The Jaredites constructed 4 ½ square mile earthworks mapping out the plan of salvation near Newark, Ohio. They made them so that the moon would align with the Divine ratio, 51.8 degrees—coming up at the time of his birth. At the time of His birth, the moon aligned perfectly with the line going through the millennial epoch and the celestial kingdom. These earthworks were refined by the Nephites, who knew the same.

Dr. John Lefgren, the historian, documents this nicely in a booklet he prepared. On the front cover of his booklet, he has an author’s conception of what the Jaredites constructed. The picture denotes the lunar rising moment of the birth of our Savior occurred at 6:29 P.M. Tuesday evening in Ohio. This was Wednesday morning on the 6th of April in Bethlehem, Judea. Bethlehem means the “House of Bread.” He is the Bread of Life for all of us.

English Word – Easter

The English word Easter, which parallels the German word Ostern, is of uncertain origin. It likely derives from the Christian designation of Easter week as in alibis, a Latin phrase that was understood as the plural of alba (“dawn”) and became eostarum in Old High German. The Latin and Greek Pascha (“Passover”) provide the root for Pâques, the French word for Easter.

Our son, Nathan, and I wrote a paper sharing that the Tropical year is 20.4 minutes shorter than the Sidereal year. The Tropical year is defined as the time from one Vernal Equinox to the next. The Sidereal year is the time it takes the Earth to go around the sun with respect to the celestial sphere. The celestial sphere is nominally the fixed stars. Christ – Center of our Lives

What is most important for us is to have Christ be the center of all that we do. As we lose our life for Him, we find it! He did and is doing the will of the Father perfectly. His angels are there for us to help us do the same in fulfillment of our divinely appointed missions. That is the path to the greatest happiness in this life and a fullness of joy in the life to come. THANK YOU, LORD, for Your infinite atonement. This year Easter Sunday should be on the 7th of April. The day after is the solar eclipse crossing over Missouri. With the two other eclipses this one completes an “A” (Alpha and Omega) over America. It crosses seven cities in the United States by the name of Nineveh. Is the Lord telling us that if we repent, we can be like Nineveh after Jonah reluctantly went and preached to them.
