Finding Your Purpose In Life – Why Are You Here?

Finding Your Purpose in Life and Why are You Here?

life-purpose·       If God is good, why does He allow so much pain, suffering, and evil in the world?
·       How can I avoid disease and be vibrant and healthy in the midst of all the pollution?
·       I have heard stress is a killer; how do I best deal with its killing effects?
·       Can I know God is there for me?
·       Will He help me know my mission and purpose in life?
·       How can I best use my time and talents?

Are we here to suffer for 75 years and then get turned into dust?  How pathetic is the atheist’s view?

All of the above questions are answered in my book, It’s About Time, as I draw upon some 207 of the world’s experts and on inspiration from the heavens, and I use an advanced scientific method in providing these answers.  Here I share a synopsis.

The Grand Counsel

Water Benefits – The Remarkable Cure

water benefitsAre you dehydrated?  Most are, and science has now shown that in large measure today’s ills are the consequence.  People have a difficult time getting good water!  What is the solution?

It seems too good to be true but from a preventative as well as curative point of view that drinking enough good water can prevent an impressive number of ills; some of which are:

Digestive systems problems, pain from arthritis, lower back, neck, angina and headaches; stress-related problems and depression; high-blood pressure and hypertension, and many heart problems; excess body, obesity, and over-eating problems; asthma and allergy problems; nerve disorder, including multiple sclerosis and fibromyalgia; both insulin-dependent and insulin independent diabetes and improper tryptophan balance; and including the big C (cancer).

Not All Scientists Agree With Darwin

darwinSince Darwin published his book on the theory of evolution in 1859, On the Origins of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Live, atheism has increased significantly.

Darwin’s work has become the accepted theory of the life sciences and his theory has become the explanation for the diversity of life. In contrast, all the great prophets throughout the ages have preached the creation, the fall, and the atonement (three pillars of eternity) as being fundamental to Heavenly Father’s plan of happiness and eternal life.

In their pride, modern scientists think to say, “Since the Bible doesn’t agree with us, the Bible must be a myth.  The people of the world seem to have lost track that the greatest scientist we have ever known, Isaac Newton, who says just the opposite.  Newton, along with many other early scientists were devout creationists.

Sir Isaac Newton was an English physicist and mathematician who is widely recognized as one of the greatest scientist of all time and a key figure in the scientific revolution.  Most do not know that Newton spent more time in the Bible than doing science as is documented in his personal writings.

Am I A Monkey’s Uncle?

Monkeydo.jpgIs Darwin right?  Are we evolved creatures as is taught in most schools and universities including BYU?  Is science correct and the Bible wrong in regard to evolution?  Could I be a “Monkey’s Uncle”? Many believe God used evolution to bring about the human family.  The theory of organic evolution leads to atheism.  Of the leading American scientists, 93% are atheists or agnostics and don’t believe the Bible story of creation or salvation. Do you know where you came from, your potential, and where you are going?  Is there salvation; if so, how are we saved?

Answers to These Questions Are Vital to Our Happiness

The answers to these questions have an enormous impact upon how we feel about ourselves.  Did we come from God or slime?  Will we go back to God or to dirt, forever?  Am I a monkey’s uncle?

Why Pain and Suffering if God is Perfect?

Why does God allow all the evil in the world?  (Isaiah 45:7)

Why all the pain and suffering?  None of the great thinkers of the ages have come up with the answers to these questions. C.S. Lewis, after going through his own apostasy from Christianity, may have come the closest — becoming one of Christianity’s most avid advocates.

As Lewis considered the Christ, he concluded that

only two views of this man are possible. Either he was a raving lunatic of an unusually abominable type, or else He was, and is, precisely what He said. There is no middle way. If the records make the first hypothesis unacceptable, you must submit to the second. And if you do that, all else that is claimed by Christians becomes credible — that this Man, having been killed, was yet alive, and that His death, in some manner incomprehensible to human thought, has effected a real change. . . in our favour.1

After gaining his deep appreciation for Christianity, in regard to evil, pain, and the suffering that come with life, Lewis poignantly states that if you “Try to exclude the possibility of suffering which the order of nature and the existence of free wills involve, . . .you find that you have excluded life itself.”1

The Power of Prayer – New Science Reveals Direct Path to God

power of prayer and science it's about timeIt is interesting that the most oft repeated commandment in the scriptures is to pray.  The power of prayer is well documented.  But we may ask, if the more than seven-billion people on the earth all pray at the same time, “How does God hear them all?”  And furthermore, “How can He answer them all?”  Yet we know prayer works.  There are some exciting scientific answers to these questions.

Knowing that God is the Master Physicist, as well as the master of all disciplines, years ago I felt to ask these and some other questions to better understand His physics in how the universe works.

Memorial Day – Day of Reflection

Graves at Arlington cemetary Memorial Day is one of reflection.  Not only can we honor those who have sacrificed their lives for this country,  but we have an opportunity to ponder about what we are personally doing to retain the memory of all of our friends and loved ones who have gone before.

I received the following quote from our dear friend, Delta Bement, from Boulder, CO:

“Show me manner in which a nation or a community cares for its dead and I will measure with mathematical exactness the tender sympathies of its people, their respect for the laws of the land and their loyalty to high ideals.”   Willliam E.  Gladstone, 1809-1898–Four Times Prime Minister of England

The IEEE Highest Scientific Award – David W Allan

Davids awardThe IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is the biggest scientific publishing house in the world, and the special issue celebrating the 50th year of the Allan variance came out 4 April 2016 is an awesome issue. They had three guest editors for it along with the regular editor.

All by itself, I felt greatly honored by the nomination letter submitted by the who’s who in international time and frequency to the IEEE, let alone be chosen to receive their highest award in recognition of my work.

On May 10th, 2016, my wife, Edna,  and I  had an amazing experience in Nor’lens (New Orleans). This annual symposium was the 70th providing for the international community the best in atomic-clock and precision timing research results.

It’s About Time Book Testimonial – Bob Webster

david signingThe Book of Mormon Evidence Conference was held the second weekend in April. It was an honor to be a forum speaker. The subject of my address was: The Lord’s promise: “Nothing Shall Be Withheld,” which was divided into two, one hour lectures.

I was also privileged to assist at the booth of my editor, Boyd Tuttle, of Legends Library. It was delightful to meet so many people and sign their purchased book, “It’s About Time.”

Also, kind individuals who had previously purchased and read the book stopped by to say, “Hello!” It was nice to chat with them and received their feedback.

Recently, I received this much appreciated testimonial from Bob Webster of Pleasant Grove Utah, which I would like to share.
