A Miracle In Houston

Believe in MiraclesI believe in miracles but have never experienced one so profoundly clear as I did this past week.

Last Monday, (14 May 2018) I had a stroke. I was packing the truck getting ready to go to the airport to give an invited talk in Houston in conjunction with the 2018 IEEE Keithley Award.  Our neighbor, Natalie Wright, who had been visiting us, could tell something was wrong, and said, “Dave, are you alright?”  I had dropped my keys to the ground and had trouble picking them up and my speech was slurred.  She immediate called her husband, Kevin, who was home, to come over.  He is a State Highway Patrol Sargeant, and he knew what to do.

The Firm Foundation Expo – Layton – David W Allan

Where we are in God’s TIME

When I learned in January that I was to speak at the Firm Foundation EXPO in Layton, Utah in April, I went into prayer: “Heavenly Father, you know who will be there for my talk and I don’t.  Please help me prepare that which will best help them to come to know Thee and Thy Beloved Son.”  The Lord answered my prayer, as I had several people come to me after my talk deeply touched by what I had shared.

One lady from Spain told me that she had lost her faith and came to the conference hoping to get it back, and that my talk was what she had hoped to find.  I rejoice to help the Lord in this most important work of helping His children come to know Him and to be on that path that leads to the greatest of happiness in this life and a fullness of joy in the life to come.

Planting Seeds and a Fullness of Joy

Spirituality,

You have heard, “You can count the seeds in an apple, but you cannot count the apples in a seed!”  Implicit in this statement is the infinite nature of the universe.  In the spring we plant our seeds in the garden and then after nourishing them and watering them we observe the miracle as they produce perhaps 100-fold after their own kind.

Like the parable of the mustard seed, we plant seeds of faith, and as they are nourished we grow in understanding of God’s marvelous ways, of His infinite love, of His Son’s infinite atonement, which gives full purpose to all of humanity and a hope for a fullness of joy in the eternities.

A husband and wife have the sacred privilege of planting seeds and having precious children in a healthy, happy, family setting.  We come to understand that the family is the most important unit in time and eternity, that family is the order in heaven, and that we can be an eternal family and receive a fullness of joy.  Hence, God has asked us to call Him, Father in Heaven.

David W Allan – The Allan Variance

The Allan Variance is perhaps the most famous of David W. Allan’s achievements, with its derivative for telecom:  TDEV, the Time Deviation.

In 1965, Mr. Allan’s Master’s thesis gave birth to what the world knows as the Allan variance, the efficient technique for characterizing the performance of clocks and for knowing how to optimally use them in time keeping, and for which he is best known.   Because the Allan variance is used in characterizing the performance of atomic clocks, it was used extensively to sort out the performance of atomic clocks used for GPS to meet the stringent specifications for that navigation and timing system.

World Recognition

David Allan is as well recognized in the field of time and frequency technology as any other figure in the world. He helped to develop our nation’s official time and frequency standards based on atomic clocks and wrote the algorithm for keeping time for the United States.  He spent many man-years helping in the actual development of GPS. He also helped other nations with their official time standards, as well as helping with International Atomic Time and Universal Time Coordinated (UTC), which is official time for the world as kept at the BIPM (International Bureau of Weights and Measures) in Paris.

Spring Equinox The Vernal Equinox is the moment in the Spring when the spin axis of the Earth is exactly at 90 degrees to the line between the Earth and the Sun. For 2018 it is 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. As the sun crossed the celestial equator, heading northward, both the Southern and Northern Hemispheres will experience an equal amount of daylight hours.

A Common Holiday

Is there a common holiday for Muslim, Jew, and Christian?

We learned while on our mission in West Africa that the most important holiday for the Muslims is “The Feast of the Sacrifice,” (Eid Al-Alha), which commemorates Father Abraham offering his son (for them it is Ishmael), and the date for this is always in the Spring of the year. To this day each year for Eid Al-Alha, the devout Muslims sacrifice a ram.

The Jews celebrate Passover in the Spring of the year – a very important celebration as they were delivered by Jehovah through Moses out of bondage in Egypt.

Christians celebrate Easter, which commemorates the resurrection of Christ, according to the dictum of the 325 AD Council of Nicaea as the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Vernal Equinox.

The Blessing of Abraham – The Great Gathering

abraham covenant its about timeIn the blessing of Abraham it declares: “In thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed.” (Gen. 22:18.)

In God’s timing, we are entering that epoch when the First is becoming the Last.  The Arab nations are descendants of Abraham, and now, more and more of them are coming to Christ.  Afshin Javid was visited by Jesus, and he is now having great success in bringing other Muslims to Christ.  The Lord is reaching out to all nations to gather scattered Israel and fulfill the promises made to Abraham

Devout Muslim Coming to Christ – A Remarkable Story

Our youngest daughter, McKaylee, shared this remarkable story with us.  If you watch it, in 73 minutes you see and hear how Afshin Javid, an Iranian most-devout Muslim came to know Jesus. I learned a lot about the Muslim beliefs, customs, and traditions in hearing his story.  It is a most incredible story.

Israelite and Egyptian Connections to Ancient Earthworks near Newark, OH, USA

Unveiling God’s Plan and Commandments

In 1848, Squier and Davis documented in their book, Ancient Monuments of The Mississippi Valley, the largest (4 1/2 square miles) geometric earthwork complex in the world which is located near Newark, Ohio.  (For your study, a large copy of this earthwork is at the bottom of the page.)

They documented these remarkable earthworks only a year after the Mormons entered the Salt Lake Valley.  Constructed by Native Americans nearly two thousand years ago, Dr. Bradley T. Leper, curator of the Ohio historical society says of it, “This is as inspiring as sending a man to the moon,” and rivals any other architectural achievement [in the world].  In the same area have been found a stone with the Ten Commandments written on it in ancient block Hebrew.  In addition, DNA studies show Israelite ancestors of these Native Americans.

Revelations 12 – War In Heaven

In Revelations 12:1-9 we read about the war in heaven. On September 23, 2017, we witnessed this chapter played out in the heavens; this amazing sign of the virgin (Virgo) giving birth to the man child (Jupiter). A woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of stars on her head, crying out in pain as she was about to give birth, and Satan, who did not prevail, trying to destroy the "man child, " or the coming forth of a pure society.

Because of current events is why it is EXTREMELY important to understand WHY the “WAR in HEAVEN” TOOK PLACE; we read:
“And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.  And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”  (Revelations 12:7-9)

What are the Health Benefits of Eating Onions

“An Onion a Day keeps the Doctor Away.”

According to Dr. David Williams, in his January 2018 Alternatives For the Health Conscious Individual, says that onions are“at the very top of my list of healing vegetables.” He says an onion a day is much better for you than an apple and has greater health benefits than any other vegetable.

Treating Health Problems With Onions

Quoting further from his newsletter, it is useful in treating “open wounds, stomach ailments, constipation, erectile dysfunction, headaches, coughs, snake bites, hair loss, infertility, muscle weakness, heart problems, breathing difficulties, and a host of other problems.”  He goes on to share how it is useful in treating heart and vascular diseases, periodontal disease, asthma and lung cancer, as well as some other cancers, such as prostate.  It helps to “inhibit bone loss associated with menopause,” and alopecia areata, which is an autoimmune disease causing the hair to fall out in small, random patches.  It is also beneficial for diabetes, hypertension, and osteoporosis.  It can also be used to stimulate hair growth along with many other benefits as well, such as having strong antioxidant properties.
