We Are At A Critical Crossroad

We are at a Critical CROSSROAD. The CROSSROAD choices are between liberty and tyranny, peace and war, health and sickness, and life and death. Led by Satan, the global elite have an overall goal of reducing the world population and having control of the masses. Satan is so subtle; he and his minions come in every door they can. At the same time, many really good things are happening with some very enlightened people.

I am not a big Trump fan, but if he loses the election, this land of the free will be lost. I am so happy that he now has some excellent people helping him move forward: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Vivek Ramaswamy, Elon Musk, and other bright entrepreneurial supporters. All of these folks are great supporters of the First Amendment—freedom of speech—and the “American Dream.

American Health and Nutrition

Our son Nathan sent me the link to a four-hour roundtable on health and nutrition. The roundtable was organized by Senator Ron Johnson and Robert (Bobby) F. Kennedy, Jr. The information is incredibly relevant and timely as well.  Some very good people share some major insights during this roundtable. |

I also found this recent interview of Jordan Peterson with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and I learned a lot from them. Jordan knows how to get to the heart of the issues at hand.
Jordan Peterson has organized Jordanforthefellowship.org to help Israel. Many Christians are aligned as well.

My Summary of the Information

The global elite have control of the pharmaceutical industry, the FDA, the CDC, the NIH, the democratic party, and the UN. Unfortunately, they are exercising significant control over the internet, as well. They are manipulating the wars, the pharmaceuticals used, and the food industry in a major way. For example, after causing the obesity epidemic by manipulating what we eat and drink, they have now designed a very expensive pill for the obese to use to get rid of the fat!

As pointed out in the roundtable, the obesity epidemic is having serious consequences on human fertility, which, of course, is what the global elite want. It is also exacerbating many other diseases—like diabetes, many previously unknown childhood diseases, and Alzheimer’s.

Regarding wars, the global elite have control of the industrial military complex for profit; not for peace. They funded both sides of WWI and WWII. And they have greatly profited from all the wars since. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated because he got in the way of their war-mongering activities.  Bobby’s dad, Robert Kennedy, was assassinated as well for that reason.

I learned from Bobby Kennedy that the Kennedy family moved to the United States as a result of the Irish potato famine in 1845, which lasted over the next seven years. The democratic party was their savior, so to speak, and they have been Democrats ever since. Bobby Kennedy—seeing the corruption of the party has now aligned with Trump and is the primary advocate for the American people in stopping the chronic disease epidemic in America. He has convinced Trump of the importance of dealing with this monumental problem, as it is destroying our young people.

These diseases include basically all American diseases. The rate of children’s diseases has increased rapidly over the last few decades; many of which were not even known a few decades ago: ADHD, ASD, diabetes, obesity, Alzheimer’s, insulin resistance (which 85% of Americans have and most don’t know it) dementia, several autoimmune diseases. Suicides among the young are now occurring at an epidemic rate. As Bobby Kennedy points out; all of this is avoidable and can be fixed relatively quickly. He outlines how in these videos. Trump now fully supports Kennedy in this effort, and they are making massive plans to do so should Trump be elected. This could be an enormous benefit to our younger generation, as well as to the masses.

The global elite taking over the food industry for profit is bringing about the early death and diseases of millions. Processed foods are nutrient-poor and disease-enhancing. Many of the processed foods use seed oils that are harmful because they are cheap. There is a great need to go organic and fresh; grass-fed and all the rest, as it was in the past before the current health crises. The food industry does not use in processing the oils that are good for you: coconut, palm, avocado, and virgin olive oil.

Most Americans are addicted to sugar, which is a slow poison. High fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is the preferred sweetener developed in the 1970s because it is so cheap and comes from subsidized GMO corn growers. HFCS drives obesity. The body doesn’t know how to process it and turns it into fat. America’s high carbohydrate diet drives obesity as well and also diabetes, which is now an epidemic.

God’s Promise

There are many more facts you can learn from the panel of experts. Let us be hopeful that solutions are at hand if we elect good people. Kamala Harris is aligned with the global elite and will destroy America if elected. Read the ingredients labels when you shop. Sugar and undesirable seed oils are often on the list.

The most important point that most people miss is that America is the “Promised Land” spoken of in the Book of Mormon. And God has promised that if we worship Him, we will be blessed. If we turn from the God of this land, who is Jesus Christ, we will be “cut off” at His Coming. How important is that?

My goal, as I enter my 89th trip around the sun, is to help as many as I can to come to know the infinite love of the Father and the Son. Basking in the blessings of His FULL infinite atonement and Their love are the greatest blessings we can receive in this life and in the life to come.

Dealing with Blood Clots

Blood clots are lifesaving when they stop the bleeding from an open wound. However, when blood clots are formed internally they can be dangerous. It happens when your blood does not flow properly. Blood platelets that pool are more likely to stick together and form a semisolid mass that causes blood flow restrictions. Once blood clots are formed they can travel to other parts of your body and cause harm and even death.

Dr. Sherry Scovell, a vascular surgeon who specializes in venous disease at Harvard-affiliated Massachusetts General Hospital explains: “If blood in the deep leg veins doesn’t move fast enough, or if you have a condition that makes you prone to blood clots, a blood clot can develop.”

Dealing with My Blood Circulation Problems

In 2005 my wife’s older sister, Corinne, passed away, and we drove down to Taylor, AZ, to the funeral – a twelve-hour drive.  We did it nearly non-stop; not a good idea!  I develop blood clots in my legs.

These clots have led to several other health challenges over the years. In 2016, I had quadruple bypass heart surgery, and when they stripped the veins in my legs to use for that procedure, the vein in the left leg was useless because of serious circulation problems there.

In 2018, I had three strokes and was miraculously healed nearly totally, so I could fulfill my errand for the Lord: https://itsabouttimebook.com/i-believe-in-miracles-2018-ieee-conference/.  The blood clots causing those strokes came from my heart – again, complications from poor circulation.  More recently, I got blood clots in my lungs.  I am pleased that I have been able to overcome all these problems for the most part, and without the help of Harvard.  But their general guidelines are very useful.

Common Blood Clot Triggers – Dr. Scovell

  1. being bedridden for long periods because of surgery or illness
  2. sitting for long periods – even three to four hours – in a car, plane, or train
  3. getting too little activity and sitting too much
  4. having blood pool in your legs because valves in a superficial vein don’t work properly (a varicose vein)
  5. taking a medication that promotes blood clotting.

Your risk for blood clots also increases with older age, a family history of DVT, cancer, certain genes, heart failure, obesity, pregnancy, sickle cell disease, smoking, spinal cord injury, stroke, untreated varicose veins, and use of birth control pills or hormone replacement therapy.

Symptoms and Risks – Dr. Scovell

  1.  A blood clot in the superficial veins. This is called superficial venous thrombosis (SVT). It causes redness, tenderness, or pain over varicose veins. Sometimes, an SVT can grow and become a deep-vein thrombosis.”
  2. A blood clot in the deep leg veins.   A DVT usually begins in one leg. “When you get a blockage, the blood can’t leave your leg easily. That leg can become swollen rather suddenly, and painful. If your legs don’t normally get swollen, but one leg becomes swollen over a few days, that may be a sign of danger.  If part of that deep-vein clot breaks off and travels to the lungs, a PE occurs [Pulmonary Embolism]. The clot gets stuck in blood vessels in the lung, you stop getting enough blood flow there, and that part of the lung dies. You have shortness of breath and chest pain when you take in a deep breath.”

Prevention Measures – Dr. Scovell

  1.  Stay Hydrated. Avoid excessive alcohol intake, and drink lots of water.
  2. Stretch your legs. Get up every hour or two and stretch your calves or move your ankles back and forth repeatedly. The calf muscles act as pumps and propel blood through the veins.
  3. Move your legs while you’re lying down. Bend your knees, or point and flex your feet.
  4. Wear compression stockings. They’ll help prevent swelling and keep blood from pooling in the legs.
  5. Pay attention to your position. Avoid crossing your legs, and periodically change your position while seated.
  6. Get an aisle seat when traveling. On a plane, train, or bus, sit in an aisle seat so you can easily get up and move around every few hours.

Blood Clots and COVID Vaccinations

As is well documented from numerous sources, the COVID vaccinations are increasing the probability of blood clots significantly with serious-health side effects.

The endothelial lining of your blood circulation system is one cell thick – making its area about equal to the size of two soccer fields.  Hence, it is the largest organ in the human body; the health of which is fundamental to everything!  So, the COVID pandemic vaccinations have been enormously problematic in this regard.

Dr. Andreas Noack is a German chemist and one of the EU’s top graphene experts, carbon experts, and doctors in the field of activated carbon whereby for his doctoral thesis he converted graphene oxide into graphene hydroxide. Professor Dr. Pablo Campra comes from the University of Almeria, and alongside Dr. Andreas Noack he examined the covid ‘vaccines’ for the presence of graphene oxide with the Micro-Raman Spectroscopy, the study of frequencies. According to both doctors, the vaccines don’t contain graphene oxide but do contain graphene hydroxide.

Dr. Novack goes on to explain how due to the nanosize of the graphene oxide structures they would not show up on an autopsy as toxicologists can’t imagine that there are structures that can cut up blood vessels causing people to bleed to death on the inside so they would not be looking for them, given their atomic size.

On 18th November 2020, Dr. Andreas Noack was on a ‘Livestream’ on YouTube discussing the dangers of the Covid-19 ‘vaccines’ when he was arrested on camera by armed German police.

On November 23, 2021, Dr. Andreas Noack released a video explaining what graphene hydroxide is and how the nanostructures injected into the human body act as ‘razor blades’ inside the veins of ‘vaccine’ recipients.

On 26th  November 2021, just hours after publishing his latest video about graphene oxide and graphene hydroxide he was attacked and murdered.

Lessons I Have Learned – I Pass Them On To You

In addition to Dr. Scovell’s recommendations, I pray the following to be helpful for you:

Vitamin K-1  – Vitamin K-1 in leafy greens is a natural blood-clotting mechanism and is very beneficial to good health. Spinach is very rich in vitamin K-1 and I recently ate a large amount of steamed spinach, which I very much enjoy with salt and pepper and butter. However, I believe the excess vitamin K-1 caused blood clots in my legs, which were already prone to this problem. Correlation doesn’t provide validation, but following this experience, I have used better judgment in my vitamin K-1 consumption.

I took the problem directly to the Lord, and I believe He directed me to valuable information.  –  I was working on Chapter 5 of my new book, Time and Eternity, The End-times Reveled and Beyond, in a section called the “Good news of the gospel of the good earth,” which is about how the Lord designed our marvelous earth to provide the best foods to nurture body, mind, and spirit.  In that section, I reference the work of Dr. William Li and his book, EAT to BEAT DISEASE, and gained some important insights on how to improve blood circulation.

Because of the new blood clots in my left leg, I had developed a painful ulcer on the outside of my left heel. My main goal was to improve circulation while doctoring the heel. 

The answer to how to heal my heel came from the Medical Journal I keep.   I was directed to Chapters 5 & 6 of Dr. Li’s Book:

The main goal is to improve circulation while doctoring my heel. 

1. emu-oil, ASEA, BF&C, and vitamin E oil. 

2. Drink two hot cups of cacao interspersed throughout the day with Pero and two tablespoons of chia seed.  Use monk fruit or xylitol as the sweetener. 

3. Avoid sugar and use distilled water to clean out heavy metals that may be in my body. 

4. Dr. Li suggests ingesting barley soup, whole wheat (non-GMO), fish oil, turmeric, foods high in resveratrol (grapes, blueberries, cranberries, peanuts, pistachios, red wine), foods high in zeaxanthin (leafy greens, goji berries), foods high in chlorogenic acid (blueberries, peaches, fresh and dried plums, eggplant, bamboo shoots), black raspberries, mangoes, green tea, Mediterranean diet, fasting.

5. Avoid all bad fats (most vegetable oils), consume good fats. “Sugar incapacitates regenerative defense system.” (p 149) Purple potatoes,  walnuts, extra virgin olive oil, capers, apples, and peppers, (p 153), Ketogenic diet, kale, mustard greens, Swiss chard, watercress, carrots, apple cider, tuna, black beans, broccoli, tomatoes, Gouda cheese, flaxseed, pecans, pine nuts, pomegranate, rainbow trout, raspberries, onions, garlic, red leaf lettuce, rosemary, salmon (wild-caught), sardines, strawberries, and sunflower seeds. 

6. Then I learned there are some beneficial Essential oils:  I use doTerra: clove (I, T, A), fennel (I, T, A), thyme (I, T, A), grapefruit (T), aroma touch (T, A) [I=internal, T=topically, A=aromatically]  Topical use on the area where the blood clots to gently massage the area toward the heart a few times a day.

7. Exercise is extremely important.  I use a rebounder, a vibration machine, and several exercises both standing up and laying down to increase circulation and to build muscle strength.  I ride my bike nearly every day – even when it is cold by bundling up.  It is great for improving circulation.

I believe the Lord designed our bodies to heal if we nourish them properly and treat them right.  It is best to be your own doctor – listen to your body and especially listen to the Lord, who designed your incredible body.  I believe this information may be useful for those who are suffering from COVID vaccination shots.  I hope and pray.

We have some exciting times ahead.  Let us do what we can be strong instruments in the hands of the Lord to help His kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven and for the establishment of Zion.

Herbal Remedies and Priesthood Blessings

In the days ahead, I believe having a strong immunity is very important and trusting in the Lord to be imperative.  In His infinite capacity to do so, He lovingly blesses our lives according to that which will best be for our eternal good.  Here I share some personal experiences of herbal remedies and priesthood blessings that have been monumental for me in my mortal journey.  But this I know, His blessings cover body, mind, and soul – respecting our agency (free choice).  Life’s challenges are for our growth.  He never said it would be easy, and He will force no man to heaven; if He were to do so, it would not be heaven.”

Arrhythmia Problem

On January 1st, 1999, I was inadvertently poisoned while we were on our mission in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa.  It caused a significant heart arrhythmia problem.  When I got home the following March and had a physical exam, the doctor said, “This is life-threatening.  You have two choices: you can be operated on or be on medication for the rest of your life.”  I said, “I like the third choice.” To get a priesthood blessing and look at naturopathic and herbal opportunities.  I found several herbs and specifically Hawthorne Berry Juice.  Interestingly, and we have a lot of Hawthorne trees in our county.  After about three months the arrhythmia was gone. Losing Weight and Getting Healthier

Better than the ketogenic diet, Professor Benjamin Bikman (BYU) has pioneered a major break-through in health and healthy weight loss.  His work is internationally famous and is best described in his book, Why We Get Sick, (WWGS) available on Amazon with 887 mostly five-star reviews.  Up to chapter 3 are available on Kindle, as well.  And I have a blog article that summarizes his pioneering work: Be kind to your Pancreas or Die.  As he profoundly shares, “the key to a long-lean life is to keep insulin under control.”  The medical community is just learning about his work.  I find his diet and exercise counsel have been easy and enjoyable to implement.  At age 84, I have been looking for the “get the younger pill,” and I have found it in his counsel, for which I am most grateful.  I enjoy eating and love my carbs — properly distributed in my daily diet and exercise.

He shows that there is a relatively unknown disease called “insulin resistance.”  Quoting from his book, “In fact, insulin resistance is the most common health disorder world-wide, and it affects more people — adults and children — each year than any other.”   “A recent study hints that up to 85% of all US adults may have it.”  And it increases the seriousness of most chronic diseases and in some cases causes the disease.

In the US in 2020, six times more people died of chronic diseases than from COVID-19.  In other words, this relatively unknown disease is more lethal than COVID-19.  But the most interesting thing is that both this relatively unknown disease and COVID-19 are curable in natural ways.  His simple suggested diet is, “Low carb; controlled proteins, and good fats,” to both deal with this disease and to lose weight naturally.  When you are in insulin balance, the body also uses fats as the body’s energy source.

In the blog article, I share his questions so that you can self-diagnose whether you have the disease or not.  I have benefited greatly from what I have learned from Dr. Bikman, and here I share a summary of what I have learned for your benefit should you desire to lose weight and get healthier.  The wonderful thing about his counsel and guidance is that it is neither hard to do and still allows you to enjoy wonderful foods.

 Cancer and Prostate Challenges

I have a whole chapter in my book, It’s About Time, on cancer.  Here, I will cover highlights.  Dr. Leonard Coldwell has helped to cure more cancer patients than any other doctor on the planet, there is a seven minute synopsis on YouTube of what he suggests for people to overcome this enormous health challenge.

The American diet is meat and dairy centered, which moves the body acidic.  A plant diet moves the body to a more alkaline state.  Dr. T. Simoncini in Italy has written a book, Cancer is a Fungus: A Revolution in Tumor Therapy, and a summary of his book is as follows: “On the basis of the scientific considerations in this book which demonstrate that cancer is caused by fungal masses (of the Candida type), sodium bicarbonate is the only useful remedy that is now available for healing the disease.”  He also has had great success.

Healthy Habits – Controlling Hypertension

Controlling Hypertension (high blood pressure) is vital for good health. Blood pressure is the force exerted by the blood against the walls of the blood vessels. When blood pressure is consistently too high, the risk of heart disease and stroke and even death increases.

I inherited the tendency for hypertension from my mother.  For decades, she fought it with medications. I was on blood pressure medications after I had my heart attack and stroke.

Healthy Habits – Spiritual Well-Being

Sometimes, when we are ailing physically, we may not tend to pay attention to our spiritual well-being and treasures in heaven.  We may ignore the Lord’s most important counsel: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt. 6:33)  Laying up treasures in heaven should be our first priority.  My great-grandmother, Christiana Christensdatter Petersen Twede was such a great example to me of one who laid up treasures in heaven.

Christiana was Born in Denmark

Christiana was born in 1835.  She loved helping take care of her father’s sheep on the green hills near their home in Oudrup, Denmark.  Her father would give her a coin for her help.  Her siblings would spend theirs, but Christiana saved hers in a special box.  Her father would tease as he bounced her on his knee, “Whatever will you do with all that money?”

She replied, “I will save it all.  I don’t know why, but someday I will need it!”  He said she was such a good girl.

Healthy Habits: Overcoming Obesity Epidemic

My Personal Journey

Being raised on a farm and also being a white-water guide, I stayed fit growing up.  When I moved to Boulder, CO, to do graduate work and to help develop the nation’s atomic clock and GPS , I took up jogging to stay in shape.  When we moved to Fountain Green, UT, in 1992, I was in very good shape.  Being the architect and general contractor as we built our solar home. I needed to be strong.  We poured all 125 cubic yards of concrete needed for that unique structure.

We have always followed our churches health code, but after finishing our home, I gained some weight.  When we went on a vegan diet, I lost 15 pounds and felt good.  Later on, when I encountered the disease called Rouleau, I went on a raw food vegan diet and lost another 15 pounds.

We have learned much more about nutrition over the years and have broadened our diet considerably.  We buy organic and fresh as much as possible, and we grow our own food extensively.  We built a geodesic-dome greenhouse, which allows us to grow our own food year around.  We have learned the great importance of body hydration.  Very often when people think they are hungry, they are really thirsty and would be much better off drinking a glass of Kangen filtered water with no chlorine.

We enjoy fresh fruit for breakfast and occasionally an omelet or boiled egg.   We use cage-free eggs.  I avoid bread because of the yeast problem I discuss in my book.  We like sour-dough bread.  I don’t trust the meat processing we have now because of anti-biotics and pollutants.   We enjoy wild caught salmon.  I like Jefferson’s counsel using meat as a condiment and having a plant-based diet  and pushing away from the table before you are full.

I realize everyone’s metabolism and genetics are different, but as we look over time and space for this planet’s history we can learn some very important and highly relevant lessons.  Let us take a careful look, and then I will share some fundamental causes and cures for America’s obesity epidemic.

Spiritual Warnings and Answers

The Lord in His infinite goodness always warns a people of impending dangers and consequences.  In Deuteronomy chapters 28-32 the Lord through Moses warns the Israelites that if they keep the commandments, they will be blessed.  And when we look closely, those blessings were both dietary and for how they used the land and their animals.

The Lord through Moses warned the Israelites the consequences if they did not keep the commandments.  History profoundly tells the story of the  fulfillment of the prophecies made by Moses with the scattering and now in our day the gathering of Israel from the nations of the earth with the ultimate goal the Lord has of providing an opportunity for all of His children to hear His glorious gospel message that all nations may be blessed. (Abraham 2:10-11)  The Lord can turn every evil into good, and we will see miracles — dietary and “heal their land” — as the Lord prepares a people for His Coming.  We need to clean up our act to be part of those to receive the Lord.  We have the great promise that our polluted lands will be healed.

In recent American history, the Lord, in his loving kindness, knowing “In consequence of evils and designs which do and will exist in the hearts of conspiring men in the last days” has given us a basic health code called “A Word of Wisdom”.

The Lord gave these health guidelines in 1833 to His prophet, Joseph Smith. Along with these health guidelines, He gave a wonderful promise to those “who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments shall receive health to their navel and marrow to their bones; And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures; And shall run and not be weary, and shall walk and not faint.  And I, the lord give unto them a promise, that the destroying angel shall pass by them, as the children of Israel, and not slay them. Amen.”  I am a recipient of those promises and I thank the Lord for them.  All who will heed can enjoy these blessings as well.

 

Hidden Offenders Causing Health Issues

In 1939, Dr. Weston A Price  wrote a book titled: Nutrition and Physical Degeneration. This book describe his field work during the 1920s and 1930s among various world cultures. He studied these various world cultures with the original goal of recording and studying dental health. However, his research results became a game changer as he found that many modern diseases are a result of the industrial revolution which has added subtle toxins to the environment which had already pervaded our food sources at that time.

As we know, industrial contamination continues to be a problem. An excellent cookbook by Sally Fallon challenges this issue. Nourishing Traditions, The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats, This is one of the best cookbook I have ever seen — providing much more information than just recipes..

Because his research is such a game changer as many modern diseases are a result of the industrial revolution, A Weston A. Price Foundation has been set up (1999) to promote that technology can be a kind father if he joins with a feminine partner – the mother of the “nourishing traditions of our ancestors.”

 

What Has Happened to The American Diet?

That obesity is an epidemic in America is evident everywhere.  See the movie “Fed Up.”   However, obesity can happen for a number of reasons: diet, sedentary lifestyle, genetic factors, and certain medications.  Of course, everyone’s metabolism and genetics are different.  In addition, different cultures, food traditions, societal influences, etc.  affect what we eat and who we are. However, we can control some of the factors that cause obesity, beginning with diet. It is not just a matter of the selection of the different types of foods we ingest but how those foods are grown and processed.   Also, there are other considerations, like body hydration and exercise.

As a result of the American diet, several other diseases have increased rapidly: for example, Type II diabetes, increase in heart disease, strokes, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and several other debilitating diseases.

 

Five Major Contributors to Obesity

1.  Recently, Michael Pollan has written a book, Omnivore’s Dilemma, which documents what has happened to food processing in this country, which is so harmful to our health. He specifically points out the pervasive and harmful effects of high fructose corn-syrup (HFCS).  It is hard to find processed foods and drinks that don’t use HFCS as the sweetener.  I highly suggest you look at the ingredients, as do we.

Developed in the 1970s, HFCS became a huge economic success in the 80s, but from a health standpoint, it is subtle disaster. HFCS is linked as one of the main causes of the obesity epidemic as well as to the diabetes epidemic. It tends to suppress the satiation sense, so that when we have eaten enough, we don’t know it and overeat. It also tends to be addictive. Its abundance in the American diet – especially in sodas — is often causing liver problems. As a synthesized sugar, the body doesn’t know how to digest it and turns it into fat.

2. Proper body hydration is extremely important. Unfortunately, most soft drinks and caffeine beverages are diuretic – tend to dehydrate the body.  So they work opposite to good body hydration. 

3. The need for regular exercise that you enjoy; otherwise, you will not persist in doing what your body needs to become slim and trim and fit.

4.  Table sugar is a culprit.  It is a slow poison to the body, table sugar is a slow poison. As I mentioned before, when I had Rouleau, cutting out sugar along with proper diet caused me to lose 15 pounds in two weeks.  Two books that address the sugar issue are: Sweet and Dangerous by John Yudkin and Sugar Blues by William Dufty.  In a wonderful CD by Dr. Lorraine Day is: Eye See; Prevent and Reverse Eye Diseases. Lorraine documents the causes and the cures for many eye diseases and that sugar contributes to eye cataracts. ( I used to wear glasses; now I don’t). 

5.   The book “Fast Food Nation” by Eric Schosser is an excellent read. Most of your processed foods use vegetable oils – most of which you don’t want to eat if you are interested in your health and want to lose weight.  However, some are very good – coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, for example.

 

General Counsel – Avoiding Obesity

Read through all the links and information above, and then listen to your heart, mind, and your body and it will guide you to where you need to be.  As I explain in Chapter 8 of my book, the Lord will help you overcome any addiction, and consider His promise: “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.  For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matt. 11:28-30)

A yoke for a team of oxen is carved to exactly fit so that it is most comfortable; so the promise the Lord makes is for you to be comfortably yoked with Him as He helps you overcome addictions and find your divine purpose and joy in the Lord.  He wants you to be happy and to fulfill the promises you made with your Loving Heavenly Father when you were with Him in your pre-mortal epoch.

As you look at the signs of the times — Satan, knowing it is his last hour — he is doing everything he can to destroy us body, mind, and spirit.  Let us be valiant in know who we can trust and not be deceived by the philosophies of men.

Healthy Habits: Piezoelectric Effect In Our Bones

What does the Piezoelectric Effect have to do with our bones? Before I tell you, a short science lesson may be helpful.

What is the Piezoelectric Effect?

Simple Definition: The Piezoelectric Effect is simply the generation of a voltage when something is compressed, stretched, or twisted.  Quartz crystals have this unusual property as do bones.

Because of this effect in Quartz-crystals they are used extensively in electronic systems. You probably have a several them in your home, in your car and there are many in your computer.  For instance, the striker button on your barbecue generates a voltage or electric charge which ignites the flame by compressing a Quartz-crystal. So when you light your barbecue, the Piezoelectric Effect has been set in motion. There are about as many quartz-crystal oscillators and resonators manufactured each year as there are people on the planet.

Healthy Habits – Healing Back Pain

Lower Back Pain Lower back pain is generally caused by muscle strain, lumbar disc herniation or lumbar degenerative disc disease. It is estimated that 75 to 85 percent of all Americans will experience some form of back pain during their life time.

Lower back pain makes moving difficult. The pain can travel to the upper thigh, buttock and groin. Often the pain feels dull and achy. When the disks in the back begin to break down it causes inflammation which produces deep aches. No matter what the cause, back pain inhibits normal life activities.

My Back Pain Onset

About 50 years ago, while I was serving as Bishop in Boulder, CO, the Elder’s President and I were helping a member of our church move a piano. For the two of us alone, it was too much and I crunched my lower back.

I did not go to the doctor but lived with pain over many years.  When we returned from our mission in Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa, in 1999 I could hardly lift anything without my back going into spasms. Sometimes I had to crawl to the bathroom.

Back Pain Relief

Some dear friends of ours, Doug and Charlotte Brown, told us of a book by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj’s: Your Body’s Many Cries for Water with subtitles: You are not sick, you are thirsty! and Don’t treat thirst with medications.  I read the book and was so impressed with the information that I wrote a book report entitled: Water, the Remarkable Panacea.

While reading that book, Dr. B, as he is often called, shared another book he had written: How to Deal With Back Pain and Rheumatoid Joint Pain Of course, this immediately caught my attention because of my lower back injury.

What I learned was: The spine doesn’t have blood circulation and has to be pumped osmotically to receive the needed nutrition for rebuilding.  Dr. B goes through the physiology of the back and then gives a set of exercises, proper hydration, and proper eating that help in this rebuilding process. I don’t know of another book that teaches you how to rebuild your spine.

Additional Back Pain Healing Pointers

In Dr B’s  book, while pointing out the importance of proper nutrition and proper exercises,  he clearly points out the importance in conjunction with proper hydration that coffee, tea, and soft drinks are diuretic, and are, therefore, counterproductive to proper body hydration. In addition, most soft drinks use high-fructose-corn-syrup (HFCS), as the sweetener.

One day I got a surprise phone call from him.  He had read my book report. During our discussion he learned I was a scientist and we visited for about a half hour.  He asked me to send him a letter sharing my healing story. 

Final Consideration

As I point out in my book www.ItsAboutTimeBook.com and in a blog article: Fast Food Is Killing Americans. This diet tradition is a disaster and is contributing to the obesity epidemic and to many other diseases.  Getting off of processed foods and moving toward a healthy plant-based diet along with good hydration moves the body away from acidity and toward better life force.  The culture and climate where one lives, of course, are important dietary determining factors.

After following Dr. B’s protocol my back is so much better and I continue to follow his back pain relief recommendations pretty much every day.
